I know we're all buzzing, and excited, and rightly so, but there isn't a single club in that division, or liable to drop into it next year that grabs me as one I'd tick as a good away day out. When we dropped in to this league, I'd penciled in a bundle of trips to have a jolly to.
There's a few London teams and if you can't make a good fist of a day out in London you're not trying hard enough. Brentford also have a new ground to tick off. Forest has been a good hunting ground for us and is also a good awayday in it's own right. Huddersfield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheff Utd are local and I've had good days out at all of them (we didn't even go to the game during the kettle game and still had a good day out). That away end at Luton... I'm disapointed we missed so much this season, but next has things to offer.
Mixed feelings about promotion. Would I rather be in the Championship than League 1? Of course. And next time I'm at the KCOM, it would nice to be for a Championship match, same as last time I was at the KCOM with plausible deniability about League 1 even happening. However, I do feel slightly cheated about this season where we've been quite good and won matches but not been able to see any of it live, particularly after suffering January and February last year. If we manage to hang on and get back to the Championship, I'm not optimistic it will be half as enjoyable live as this season would have been.
I'm still worried about Sunland with all these games in hand and they've only lost 5 don't forget. They'll be wanting Johnson sacked now at the biggest team in the 3rd division. They will need to win so that should make it a classic attack versus defence. I'll show Sunland some respect and say City 5-0.
Theoretically the carrot crunchers, the lashers & SAFC could also still overtake us (as well as the pish) But the odds and likelihood just keep getting dafter.
