If Wael has contacts at Chelsea then can we please have McCormick back next season, Never stops working runs all match and gives 100% every time he plays According to Bristol Live Jaakkola screamed at the bench for f---s sake get someone else to take the free kicks after he put 2 into the stand and the third failed to clear the first man
AFC losing 1 - 0 Wigan Winning 1 - 0 Wigan 2 - 0 Northampton 0 - Luke Leahy 1 Swindon 0 - 2 Peterborough
AFC have equalised 1 - 1 Wigan 3 - 0 AFC 3 _ 1 up AFC 4 - 1 up Wigan 3 - 1 up AFC 5 - 1 up Hare on for Westbrooke Baldwin concedes a penalty 1 - 1 need Swindon to concede another goal now back in the bottom 4
I have been following the game on I follow the final whistle blew and the match report came up timed 1 hour ago. Was the game fixed JCH got Peterborough's 3rd AFC and Wigan go above us possibly Swindon drop below us down to 22rd
Frustrating result when it looked like we might nick all 3 points for much of the time, but deep down, you just knew they wouldn't hold on for the entire match. Our defence are incapable of defending for 90 mins! All boils down to the midweek games now. Tuesday night sees Wigan v Sunderland, Wimbledon v Ipswich, Rochdale v Swindon and by coincidence, Lincoln v MK Dons - our next 2 opponents, both at The Mem. These next 2 home games will be pivotal in which league we are in next season, in my opinion.
KO against Lincoln on Saturday is 12-30 so that it doesn't clash with the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh which takes place at 3pm
Wigan beat Sunderland 2-1. Thanks Lee Johnson Wimbledon beat Ipswich 3-0. Big boost to their goal difference. Rochdale beating Swindon. Rochdale are bottom and still a little adrift of us so them beating Swindon is a good result for us. But Wimbledon and Wigan getting 3 points has hurt us. Table not looking good right now.
Rochdale 2 points behind with a game in hand. Rovers 3 points behind Wigan on the same number of games. Shrewsbury on 50 points game in hand over 2 games in hand over Wigan and 1 over AFC. As I see it the present bottom 4 will be relegated. If Tisdale had signed a striker instead of a FB we might have stood a chance, but unless our luck in front of goal improves we are relegated
Wigan and Wimbledon must be odds on to stay up now, barring a melt down. It does look as if we'll go down with Rochdale, Swindon and Northampton unless we win pretty much all the remaining games, which obviously won't happen.
Unfortunately Gastro I have to agree with you, Tisdale's refusal to sign a striker when he was unable to get his first choice has / will cost us dearly and relegation is staring us in the face and I am not sure if we have the right players to get us back up at the first attempt. A lot is going to depend on who will A stay B who we can sign C Who is surplus to requirements who we can persuade to leave I feel it is going to be a long Summer window with considerable disappointment
To get back up you really need to be as good as some of the teams around the League One playoffs, and I'm sure some of the personnel will need to change. I was worried that we couldn't beat Northampton, because they looked and played like a pretty poor League Two side. That's about the level we're at, and the powers that be need to wake up and smell the coffee very soon. There are definitely a few players worth hanging onto, and I think we'll see better from Ayunga, and a fit Nicholson would do some damage in League Two. But the key thing is to have a fit group of lads who can last the pace.
With just Ayunga up front and a packed midfield it looks like we’re set up to avoid defeat rather than to win. That’s a mistake because if we are to survive then we simply must win this game.
Northampton lost last night Today's games... Rochdale vs Accrington Wigan vs Crewe Wimbledon vs Swindon We have the hardest game today.
