I have had experience of some shocking lying bastard police in my time and also some absolutely brilliant ones with many in between.
In other words no different to anyone else.

We once left The Blacksmith's Table in Washington Village when a police van pulled us over, hoping that I was drink driving.
The lying bitch insisted that they'd stopped me 'cos I drove for 'about 20 yards' without lights, which wasn't the case . . . . I put them on before setting off like I always do, but this was just her justification.

I told her that I'd only had a sip of my wife's glass of wine, but I had to sit in the van and have a test.

She was obviously gutted that she was wrong, and I wanted to report her lies the day after, but I didn't 'cos I realised that my car would then become 'marked' so the lying bitch got away with it <grr>

Another incident was when I complained to the police about kids from another street deliberately kicking their football at our, and our neighbours' cars and being encouraged to do so by one of their uncles who did live in our street, telling them that they could kick the ball as hard as they liked 'cos there was now't that we could do about it (his property wasn't in the firing line, of course) !
Although I asked for discretion, a uniformed copper came straight to my house, then threatened me so that I wouldn't report it again, which was because he was mates with a copper that lives in our street, who also wasn't in the firing line but was a good friend of the uncle who encouraged the boys to have no respect for others !

Do I trust the police ?

    I haven't decided yet <whistle>

Definitely not a job that I would consider - the right to protest- during a lockdown <doh>

for ****s doing that they need a new law and a new kicking squad to do what's needed fight fire with fire, like how it was done a good few years back, but for every good cop these days there are some stinkers. i personally want to get back to the time when police were respected members of the community, and did not have their hands tied by snowflakes,Its really time to sack left loving Cressida DICK under her watch cops are a laughing stock

Just listened to the Police views on the disturbance on BBC Today programme and I fully support them, Rog mate your immediate reaction is exactly the same as mine tbh, but it is just what these thugs, and the vermin behind them want. Far better to diffuse the immediate situation, identify and isolate the culprits, including those "peaceful" bystanders featured at the end of RTB's post, and then show them the error of their ways by hitting them hard in the courts, not on our streets. Thats my view anyway.

The trouble is that this draconian government are using the lockdown to put permanent measures through to reduce the right to protest and increase police powers. I certainly don't agree with the violent protests we are seeing, but I also believe that what this government are doing is both worrying and shocking.

The protest was against the bill , but wonder if they realise that their actions have probably just increased the will to put it through .

As a law abiding citizen Ive never had any trouble with the police, Last time I was involved when I got stopped driving along the felling by pass after speogognding an evening at the dogs. Reason for stopping was that I drove close to another car when overtaking which I probably did. One cop asked me to get in the back of his police car, the one talked to my mate at same time in my car. Asked if I had been drinking to which I replied Id only been drinking cans of orange (which was the truth) ' breathyllsed me which was negative, and proceeded to let me go. On returning to my car I asked mate what cop had asked him which was basically same, where had we been, what had we been doing and had I been drinking. Again mate responded with truth to all questions asked

Throughout this action cop who interviewed me was fine (as I was with him).

    I speak as I find.

I acknowledge their are probably some dodgy ones but there are far more 'dodgy, thuggish members of the public and Im glad we have the police to call on if necessary

    @Makemstine Roger @gelders pie @MrRAWhite @RTB what's going on here?

    Police retract their story...

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...at-bristol-protest?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other

Regarding the claims of injuries at Bristol, Blowe said: “It does raise concerns that Avon and Somerset may have been trying to sell the case not only for their operation on the night, but for what happens next. Bristol is geared up for raids on homes.”

Really disgraceful from the police. There needs to be a public inquiry as to why they told these lies.

hang on it's the labour loving woke BBC who want to shut him up for exposing their wanton abandonment waste of public money on fat cats, who are trying to suppress it coming out by attacking journalists exposing it . I know you lean to the left mate but come on that's indefensible

:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: Please tell me this is not serious? The BBC were akin to a Tory Party election broadcast in the last two elections and now have a Tory Party member and donor at the helm.
