Waiting on Sir Gerhard to place...

Torn between laying him for a place for £100 to lose £40 if he places, or letting it run for £130... <steam>

Townend well off the mark there - comprehensively outridden by Rachael Blackmore. Surely he should have forced the pace more? Patrick would have sluiced up on it.

Morning all...Happy St Patrick's day - it could very well end up being 'Willie's Wednesday's or even "De Bromhead day'. :emoticon-0111-blush

Let's hope the Irish don't win all the races though. Following bets for me:

1.20pm Bob Olinger 7/4 win
2.30pm Craigneiche 10/1 each way 6 places
3.05pm Put the kettle on 10/1 each way. I can't back Chacun Pour Soi in such a competitive line up today and with a weight allowance plus her great record at Cheltenhan she can run well..
3.40pm Defi Des Carres 40/1 each way 4 places. Has lots of cross country experience and why not at the price..
4.50pm Elle est belle 20/1 each way 4 places. Gets a handy weight allowance and could run very well on ground. Proven course form and has been kept back for this.

Good luck all!<ale>
What a day 3 winners (Tiger Roll win and ibleo place also love bet365 4/1 offer) and 3 places..<cracker>:emoticon-0167-beer:. Finishing day off with a 20/1 place...

Can't believe I landed Sir Gerhard ante post. First time I've won on one. Yippy:emoticon-0137-clapp
I couldn't back him or Kilcruit today as too short..Happy with 20/1 elle est belle place but good to see the horses moved out of Elliotts yard are running well from what we have seen. Well done on your ante post voucher..

I have for the second day:

Ballymore
No bet (Ballyadam 16/1 e/w NR)

RSA
Treble Monkfish, Chacun Pour Soi and Envoy Allen, Odds 4/1. ( Commander of Fleet 33/1 e/w NR)

Coral
Craigneiche 12/1 e/w (Column OF Fire 25/1 e/w NRNB)

Champion Chase
Treble Monkfish, Chacun Pour Soi and Envoy Allen, Odds 4/1.

Cross Country Chase
Treble Easyland, Envoi Allen with a Hollow Games race which he won in November, Odds 14/1.

Grand Annual
Entoucas 10/1 e/w

Champion Bumper
No bet (Hollow Games 33/1 e/w NR)

Trebles gone but a little better than yesterday.

Craigneiche 12/1 e/w 2nd.

Entoucas 10/1 e/w 2nd.

1:20 - Have Bob Olinger in about 5/6 multiple bets... Will probably play a small single bet but nothing noteworthy. Personally I think Gaillard Du Mesnil should be nowhere near favouritism (Watch me eat my words when he romps home) and think Bravemansgame will finish ahead of him. Bear Ghylls has been absolutely hammered in the betting over the last 24 hours, 16's into 13/2... I'm also going for a small E/W play w/o Bob on Does He Know at 40/1...

1:55 - Monkfish wins, again in loads of multiples... Fiddlerontheroof is 13/2 to place, but 17/2 w/o Monkfish so a little E/W play there, can see him finishing behind Monkfish and Eklat De Rire who I'll back at 9/4 w/o Monkfish...

2:30 - I was hoping Craigneiche would drift a bit today but not to be so a small win only. Going to go with a small bet E/W on Sayo at 50/1 and an E/W bet on Janika at 33's...

3:05 - Chacun in loads more multiples. Put The Kettle On w/o Chacun too... Split between having a E/W play on Sceau Royal or w/o Chacun on Notebook... Really liking the idea of there being no crowd for Notebook, hopefully won't sweat buckets beforehand and finished between Put The Kettle On and Chacun at Christmas. Hasn't done great at Cheltenham and PTKO seems to love it so going to chance PTKO win w/o Chacun and Notebook E/W w/o Chacun in the hopes it'll finally enjoy Cheltenham without the crowds.

3:40 - Easysland in more multiples again, about a stone and a half better than all the rest. Level weights will make it easier in a race he has been aimed at so I don't mind his last race at Cheltenham or the fact that the ground won't be soft. Worried to see which Tiger Roll will actually turn up. They've finally got the good ground they've always said he'd be better on, but I still can't see past Easysland. Can't dream of backing Le Breuil E/W with the ground turning up good, so might have a little play on Defi Des Carres E/W...

4:15 - Value nearly gone now but I think Chosen Mate wins. Biggest bet of the day for me is Bun Doran E/W. Ran in a Champion Chase and second in this race the year before. Just been given a light run up with only 3 races and looks well handicapped if he get back to previous Cheltenham form.

4:50 - Kilcruit being smashed into 5/4 now. I have Sir Gerhard in a few multiples and probably won't have anymore play in this race.

Bob, Monkfish and Fiddlerontheroof very kind to me... Also though Eklat De Rire was going pretty well before unseating...

Decided E/W on Craigneiche to be safe, think he could have won if he didn't get trapped before and around the bend... Janika placed so happy enough there... And of course I forgot to press E/W on Sayo or else double tapped it on my phone without checking, so nothing at all back from what should've been a 50/1 placed bet :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Chacun nearly ruined me... I was actually gutted for him(As well as for nearly every single one of my multiples for the week), but no excuses, Put The Kettle On is some horse around Cheltenham! That saver on her literally saved me on this race... Notebook seemed to be going ok but then faded badly...

If Chacun losing didn't ruin all my multiples, Easysland losing ruined all bar two... Thought Defi Des Carres ran ok, bar a few mistakes and think he could be interesting in this sphere from now on... Disappointed with Easysland, but Tiger storming home softened that blow a lot (Emotionally). If they retire him now it'll be great to see such a servant to racing go out on a high...

Haven't seen the replay of this race yet but Embittered falling played a huge role in this race, not sure if anything behind managed to come close.

Another great ride by Rachel, wandered around on the home straight but I feel it would've had enough even if Townend made a move on Kilcruit sooner...

Strange day for Rachel Blackmore, 2 winners and 3 fallers... She really was riding hot and cold today!

Yeah an English winner.:emoticon-0168-drink:emoticon-0169-dance...3rd for Ibleo..

how weird , you realise horses don’t do nationalism , on breeding theyre all arabs ! so can only assume you mean the owner , another strange concept , or where they are trained , or the feed suppliers , it’s a very bizarre concept to try and pin onto what is a sport that doesn’t really acknowledge petty imaginary lines on maps .......

Erm, Rudey, the Thoroughbred Racehorse is not exactly 'Arab' as such, it is a cross between the Arab and the English Racing Mare. This was developed by a Lady Wentworth in the 17th Century, the Arab strain for stamina, and the English Racing Mare for speed (yes, really). I am going by memory here, and have not googled anything yet, so apologies if I have not got things exactly right. Feel sure it was a Lady Wentworth though. Hope so!

Here's something just found in Wikipedia, can't find the Lady Wentworth connection but I am sure it was one of the early ones in the dynasty:

yes , they’ve diluted over time , but my point is valid , animals do not recognise nationalism , nor do fish unless you’re a farage type , it’s like trying to attribute human behaviour in animals , pointless , petty nationalism is used to divide and rule and distract , some sports transcend that , cycling , racing , boxing , it’s only jingoistic fools who try and perpetuate the illusions .......

There is of course the Prestbury Cup, but anyway...

I don't like to see the Irish trainers winning all the races thanks. Like to see the English trainers doing well...
