With a couple of days spare for a change just wondered what peoples perceptions of Harry Kane are? England captain and scoring machine but we hear very little of him over here. I have a personal opinion of him but don't know him so unfair to give it but what is undeniable is his scoring record. Hard to believe he couldn't get in our team at one point.
Obviously a very good player. He finishes well in and around the box, and has a strong physical presence. Not got blistering pace and doesn't score many individual goals, and has benefited from having the likes of Alli, Eriksen, Bale, Son etc teeing him up. I found it annoying when Hodgson was in charge of England and he became the focus of the team. Undroppable, taking corners, free kicks and penalties seemingly on a one man mission to win the golden boot above anything else. He's adopted the dark arts of buying free kicks and penalties, no doubt Mourinho's influence, but his goal scoring is what he's there for and he can compare it to pretty much anyone.
Brenda says a couple of players could feature tomorrow after coming back from injury. If that is the case, I would like to see us start with this...... Kasper Fofana, Evans, Soyuncu Ndidi Ricardo, Praet, Tielemans, Castagne Iheanacho, Vardy
This could be a pivotal weekend. Chelsea have drawn with Leeds and Man Utd play West Ham tomorrow. If we can beat Sheff Utd, I wouldn't mind Man Utd winning. We need to open up a gap from ourselves and 5th place.
Make sure we win the games we should and pick up a couple of wins against the 'big 6' we have left and we should accomplish a top 4 finish. The teams challenging for the top four all have tough games to come here and there so will drop points. Sounds simple in theory!
A win against Sheffield United is a must to put some distance between us and fifth place. It's great to have some of our injured players coming back, but Maddison is a worry. They don't seem to know quite what is causing his hip problem, and this has been a condition he has had for quite a considerable time now. We will definitely need his creativity during the run-in.
Go Burnley, we just need us to beat the blades and man u to beat wet sham and it'll be the perfect weekend
Very nice goal, great ball from Perez to Vardy. Perez and Iheanacho looking lively. Another one kills the game. Wins are the main thing at this stage of the season but it’s a hard watch again. I know it’s to control the game but personally find all the sideways and backwards passing very dull. Need to take them to the cleaners, get another and then rest a couple!
That was much more like it second half! Not just the goals but the intent, going forwards, high tempo and splitting the defence. Excellent result and so pleased for Nacho, never seen him look as happy as when he picked Vardy up after his hat trick!
Perez plays well behind the strikers, it showed today, albeit against a poor team. Iheanacho and Vardy complimented each other perfectly. Iheanacho is not so effective on his own up front, but with Vardy, and Perez behind them he seemed to find lots of space and his finishing was deadly.
Well thats a way to go to work happy on a Monday morning. Utterly dominant. Think Kasper fell over once in the entire game. Sheffield may be the bottom side but to put them away like that was perfect and a bit of a statement performance. Vardy so unlucky not to score but also so important to the team in other ways. Cant underestimate the value of a +5 to the goal difference as well. Great win
That's the way to do it, I can't believe I actually wanted Man U to win but what a perfect weekend results wise
Well, that went well Some great results for us across the weekend too. The next 2 league games will be tougher, suspect Man City will want revenge for the defeat. On to the cup next and then hopefully more players back after the international break for the run in.
Great team performance albeit against a side that have obviously downed tools. So glad for Iheanacho, he's had to bide his time here and now is undroppable. The results went for us over the weekend and a nice gap is now opening up between ourselves and 5th place. A perfect Sunday.
One interesting dynamic was both Amartey and Tavares not even making the matchday squad ... especially after big Dan having scored that last minute winner at Brighton?
Kels is currently the most 'in-form' striker in the Prem ... great for us as we move into the season's home straight ...
