I thought Michael Vaughan made a good point about these tests only lasting 2 or 3 days. It's the first time they have been on Terrestrial TV for a good while, but Channel 4 must feel short changed by only getting 2 days out of 5, and will they or others consider bidding again?
I wonder if the broadcasting contracts have some sort of payback clause for 'lost' days? I can't imagine C4's advertisers paying for those days so I wonder how C4 offsets those losses? A bit like bookies laying off (is that the term) big bets.
as a warm-up before the 4th india-england test, take a look at the windies innings commentary from their just-finished 2020 against sri lanka. link to the commentary below. scroll all the way down and read from the beginning of the innings. try not to read anything until you've scrolled all the way down. completely mad. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...anka-1st-t20i-1252066/ball-by-ball-commentary
Losing 8 wickets to spin on day 1 after winning the toss. Not sure we can blame the pitch for this one.
This looks like a 300 batting pitch, so it looks as if we are way short of where we should be. I guess we'll have to see how India bat to get a fair comparison, but I fear 300+ is on the cards.
A good morning for England, Anderson again getting Rahane on the stroke of lunch, and what a catch by Stokes. 80-4 at Lunch.
Our 200's looking pretty good now! 153/6. Can't believe how tight Anderson and especially Stokes have been,
