For me, he saw what we didn't like about Short (uncommunicative, distant etc) and positioned himself to pretend to be the opposite. It fell apart very quickly though. He wanted to sell us in his first season, which didn't tie in at all with wanting to give it a go and see how far he could take us. Once that fell through there was no leadership at this club, no care , no stewardship. Hell even the play offs got very little to no marketing from the club. They thought they were out, they thought they'd made their profit. When we lost they knew they were in trouble. FPP wanted us, they saw through Donald. KLD wanted us, and eventually he did the same. We're ****ing lucky he was determined to do the deal. Initially it was going to be more of a partnership. It changed. I actually have more respect for Methven. He's an abrasive arsehole but he was good at what he did here and at least he didn't try to hide it
Will be interesting to see how long those 3 last as share holders. It's pretty clear KLD isn't going to take any ****. Can't wait to see where we are thus time next year.
I'll say this. From what I hear Donald's shares aren't protected. If KLD puts money in he has to match it (percentage wise) or be out. Personally, I'd give it 12 months. I don't think he'll be here long. Time will tell. But kld doesn't want or need him.
I'd love to know who his advisors are on the footballing side. What he just about confirmed was the KS and LJ were his, and I dare say it, his advisors appointments.
The vast majority of us were taken in at the beginning. It was a combination of Short going and Donald and Methven telling us what we wanted to hear. I’m sure there will be a few who saw through him then but I wasn’t one of them. For me personally the alarm bells were starting to ring when he appointed his mates to key positions. Even then I gave him the benefit. Then it was the “we have a transfer budget most championship clubs would envy” or something similar which was backed up by free signings. It was then that I started to think he was out of his depth, confirmed when he sacked Ross (which in the current climate needed doing) and brought in Parkinson.
Yes mate. I know when you mentioned it me that it wasn't good. Came out in the wash in the end. Again I agree with you though, not worth airing in public. Especially now. They are done here.
Not a criticism, that interview was very staged. Cut away after every question. I think the questions and answers were all pre planned, word for word. (good thing)
I doubt they’re being paid £10m each. They already work for the Dreyfus family so they might not even be salaried at the club it could be that their roles come under an umbrella of responsibility they already have.
I for one cannot see those 3 hangers-on put in money, not when they were asset stripping the club in the first place as KLD stated. They were obviously way out of their depth and hopefully can depart ASAP.
Just want to say I feel great A hard earned win and 3 points to n the bag. THE interview from a new owner who has more knowledge and nounce in his little finger than anything we have had in my 62 and a half years of gannin to see the lads. I’ve never heard from anybody associated with our club sound so “on the ball” Any young bairns today should be taken to the SOL when allowed back because there future of supporting the lads looks very rosy indeed Nice one Kyril
I wonder just how KLD got involved with buying us as we were led to believe it was Juan. With him no longer a director I wonder if that was indeed wrong. I'm so chuffed and excited I just wanna buy my season card again!
There are top level recruitment companies who monitor absolutely everyone involved in the game. We've never had the means or will to use them because our owners have either not had the money or thought they knew best. I'm just happy to sit back and do as my signature suggests ... ... now this team are in place I don't think people will be posting much info, it's not just football that's being monitored.
