It will be interesting to see how Sheff Utd approach this in terms of their team. After a resurgence of late in the PL, will they look to maintain the momentum by naming a strong side here, in a game they would be expected to win, or, will they 'rest' players to keep them fresh for their push for PL survival? If it's the latter, it could leave the door open for City to spring a surprise... I bet Billy Sharp scores against us tonight!
Just in case people have not heard, the Sheffield Utd v Bristol City cup match is being televised live on BBC Iplayer at 7-30 tonight.
Does Bramall Lane have undersoil heating ? According to the BBC weather site, the temperature in Sheffield after 19.00 this evening is due to be -3 with the feel of the temperature to be around -7 due to wind chill factors Brrrrr
Sheffield is always cold, I'm sure I read last summer there was a part of Sheffield that was -12 Good old Sheff Weds!
This is true. At least they put up a decent fight without raking and pushing players over. The ref had to change to a yellow ball for the last 15 minutes because you couldn't see the white one in the snow. Half the yellow balls that Rotherham found in their kit store were under-inflated and had to be changed regularly. There is no way the ref could have awarded a penalty even if he wanted to anywhere around the edge of the box for the last 15 minutes - you couldn't see the pitch markings - bloody ridiculous. I thought he was going to abandon it at 1-1 but he let it run and Benno got an 85th minute winner for us.......
I am glad that you didn't have to suffer from raking and being pushed over, but I am sure you made up for it with stamping and players going down holding their faces once they realised the opponents still had the ball, alls well that ends well eh. On a serious note what was the prognosis about Marshall, that was quite worrying to watch unfold?
Sorry I was thinking of the Derby match, the bad memories of the football or lack of it are all the same at the moment, SMITHIES was it?
Yep sure - no probs it was Smithies. Nothing official just that he felt really unwell and giddy all of a sudden. Had to come off but felt a bit better later. Ruled himself out the game last night telling Mick he still didn't feel right and didn't want to be considered.
Has Sparkey moved to the Red side? Anyway, just popped over to wish you well this evening. Go and blunt those blades.
Looks like either 3 at the back, midfield looks weak, could be a long night for our strikers, nothing they are not used to. But hey ho who knows.
