City take on Sheffield United in the Emirates FA Cup tomorrow night looking to advance to the last eight of the competition for the first time in 47 years.

    K/O
The match will take place at Bramall Lane on Wednesday, February 10. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.

    TV
The match will be broadcast on the BBC’s Red Button and BBC iPlayer.

    Ref
Robert Jones will referee Sheffield United’s FA Cup clash with Bristol City.
Peter Kirkup and Derek Eaton will assist Jones, with Jonathan Moss named as the fourth official.

    VAR will be in use
Anthony Taylor will take the lead as the Video Assistant Referee for the game. Stuart Burt will assist Taylor in Stockley Park for the fixture.

    Team news
Bristol City players Andreas Weimann, Jay Dasilva, Callum O'Dowda and Tommy Rowe are unlikely to feature due to injuries.
Famara Diedhiou has scored in three of his last four FA Cup appearances for Bristol City, netting in both the third and fourth rounds so far this campaign.
Nakhi Wells has been Diedhiou's partner of choice in attack and that is expected to be the case at Bramall Lane.

As for the home side, George Baldock and Enda Stevens remain doubtful but Ethan Ampadu is back in contention after missing out against parent club Chelsea on Sunday.

It will be interesting to see how Sheff Utd approach this in terms of their team. After a resurgence of late in the PL, will they look to maintain the momentum by naming a strong side here, in a game they would be expected to win, or, will they 'rest' players to keep them fresh for their push for PL survival?

If it's the latter, it could leave the door open for City to spring a surprise... I bet Billy Sharp scores against us tonight!

Does Bramall Lane have undersoil heating ?
According to the BBC weather site, the temperature in Sheffield after 19.00 this evening is due to be -3 with the feel of the temperature to be around -7 due to wind chill factors
    Brrrrr

At least it looks as though you got more of a game last night than Saturday.

This is true. At least they put up a decent fight without raking and pushing players over. :emoticon-0105-wink:

The ref had to change to a yellow ball for the last 15 minutes because you couldn't see the white one in the snow. Half the yellow balls that Rotherham found in their kit store were under-inflated and had to be changed regularly.

There is no way the ref could have awarded a penalty even if he wanted to anywhere around the edge of the box for the last 15 minutes - you couldn't see the pitch markings - bloody ridiculous.

I thought he was going to abandon it at 1-1 but he let it run and Benno got an 85th minute winner for us.......:emoticon-0141-whew:

I am glad that you didn't have to suffer from raking and being pushed over, but I am sure you made up for it with stamping and players going down holding their faces once they realised the opponents still had the ball, alls well that ends well eh.

On a serious note what was the prognosis about Marshall, that was quite worrying to watch unfold?

Sorry I was thinking of the Derby match, the bad memories of the football or lack of it are all the same at the moment, SMITHIES was it?

Yep sure - no probs it was Smithies.

Nothing official just that he felt really unwell and giddy all of a sudden. Had to come off but felt a bit better later.

Ruled himself out the game last night telling Mick he still didn't feel right and didn't want to be considered. <ok>

Smithies could have stayed on, we wouldn’t have troubled him at all

Looks like either 3 at the back, midfield looks weak, could be a long night for our strikers, nothing they are not used to.

    But hey ho who knows.
