The EFL are yet to confirm details for the draw, although it is expected to happen fairly quickly given the sharp turnaround in fixtures. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...ents-sunderland-battle-wembley-return-3121903
May be doing him good not having some of our idiot fans slating him at every match!! I heard it first hand a number of times. He’d get what Phillips would call a half chance at best and miss it and get slated by the crowd around me!! looks full of confidence and long may it continue. 16 in all comps I think now
Lot of positive stuff from tonight. Lee Johnson talking about his thoughts of O’Nien after the game (he’s my new cattermole!!) and O’Nien’s performance. Jones looks a good player. Personally thought Diamond struggled 1st half but looked direct and good second. Matthews, IMO (and I’ve said it from the start) should be our number 1. Neil looks good too. To the point that I think he’s a very good young player. Vision, moves well on the ball, can pick a pass too and gets into some decent positions. lastly, another goal fir the big man!! Just keeps on proving people wrong. there’s more I’ll have missed but hey, it’s 2am nearly and I’ve had a few!!
glad that transfer window is closed i thought we might lose Mcgeady or gooch and Dan was exellent, Kimpy should be back, the rangers player will be good plus a striker to help Wyke (dare i say our new super Kev ?) looks good for us we will win the league now.
Supporters can now watch the full 90-minute re-run, as Sunderland progressed to the last 4 of the Papa John's Trophy. please log in to view this image https://safc.com/news/team-news/2021/february/mk-dons-pjt/full-90-vs-mk-dons-ppjt
Dan Neil reminds me a lot of Stan Anderson. Wyke has a few similarities with SKP. , and McGeady, is proving a lot of people wrong, a fantastic super sub.at the very least, and could just be the trick up the sleeve, to do as you say. please log in to view this image
I thought that Wyke's goal was Quinny-esque, in the fact that he seemed to rise higher than those around him to flick it into the net.
Although Monty's posts are usually gobbledygook, I now agree with that last bit and I'll be very surprised if we don't win the league this season
Didn't watch last night's stream, just watched the highlights and didn't realise textile Diamond played in the first two goals, 1at one it was his pass back to our keeper then ran almost the length of the pitch to cause the defender to score an OG. The second was from his deep cross which they failed to clear properly and Geads capitalised thanks to their keeper. Some last night were slagging him off for his first half efforts which I find unbelievable as he's still a kid learning his trade but some fans won't give our players any slack whatsoever.
100% this mind... they were never going to be 'the finished article' but they have that rawness and fight that many first team players seem to lose (maguire?) onien is just a joy to watch on the pitch (remember, he got some stick at first) once he stopped trying too hard and settled into his game he has been one of the first on the team sheet...fair enough, they make mistakes and they will make some strange choices on the pitch but experience will come.
