If there was a time for Danny to test positive it was last week. Obviously not good news and hopefully he'll be ok.
If he tests negative why would he not make the squad? I don't understand. He won't have lost all of his fitness in the time he was self isolating. Maybe enough not to start, but don't understand why he wouldn't make the bench still.
If Ings was potentially contagious against Liverpool like Ralph had said then we will be incredibly fortunate to avoid an outbreak similar to Newcastle and Villa.
If he was asymptomatic (like a lot of footballers who've had it are), I would imagine he would have kept up some fitness while isolating, maybe with a treadmill or similar?
And they will be without Nathan Redmond, Michael Obafemi, Mohammed Salisu, Jannik Vestergaard, Nathan Tella, Moussa Djenepo and Danny Ings on Saturday. Woahhhhh. Our attack is ****ed.
Lucky it’s in an area we have some depth tbh. ———————McCarthy———————- -Peters—Bednarek—Stephens—Bertrand- —————Prowse—-Romeu————— -Armstrong————————-Walcott—— —————-Long——-Adams—————— Could see NLundulu instead of Long too. It’s not our best but it’s a passable side, we are quite lucky we can field that at least given the context. Bench should be interesting though
Can’t believe Danny didn’t do the decent thing, come straight back into training, infect a load more of the squad and get the game called off
Come on people it’s not all that bad..... Alternatively get the front line to do Fabrice Fernandes circles in front of the box until Prowse gets a free kick.
If anyone is interested we just recorded a new episode with Leicester fan Pete Selby looking ahead to the game this weekend. This was all recorded before said injury crisis. https://underthelights.podbean.com/e/under-the-lights-leicester-preview-with-pete-selby/
Yikes, Tella is injured now too... I thought the 2 week break was supposed to be good for us We're really going to struggle with such a congested period of games now and already a squad stretched to the limits. Wonder if we will see a change of approach with Ralph trying to manage our remaining players through all these games.
Not that Shane Long has a "good" record against anyone. But in the context of it being him, I recall that he has enjoys Villa and...Leicester.
Normally I'd say yes without doubt but I keep looking at the table and think there's a massive opportunity there. Having said that I'd love to see Saints win the FA Cup.
