That's a fair point mate but, to be fair, I've no idea who those people are. The PM is the person on the front page of every paper and the person who sets the tone.

Sadly, in my honest opinion, he's fallen short at various points of the crisis.

Right from the start of this pandemic, we have reacted rather than be proactive ie tried to be ahead of what's going to happen rather we have waited till it happens then we do something.

The govt own playbook, the 'war gaming' exercise Cygnet had said, close borders, have lots if PPE and respirators together with test track and trace, look after care homes. We did none of that and just panicked especially after Bonko ended up in hospital with it, realisation dawned that this virus was no joke...but by then it was too late, the cat or virus was out of the bag..

I think in view of the poor handling of the pandemic and the damage done to the economy, we are very lucky that some vaccines are coming to the rescue although there are is still probably about 6 months of trouble ahead.

Reflecting on Bonko calling Smarmy, Captain Hindsight at PMQs, obviously Bonko realises history is going to judge his handling of the crisis badly... so in this case he is being proactive by trying a pre-emptive strike saying nobody could have done better at the time. Pity he was not so perceptive about the pandemic as he is about saving his own political skin.

If this virus had hit us first I could sympathise more, but we could see Italy, Spain, etc, being devastated. Yet we allowed unrestricted international travel and the PM went out and about without a mask, shaking hands with one person then another ...

... an absolute masterclass in how to transmit the virus.

Even after contracting the virus he 'came out fighting' and pointlessly visited factories, etc, while at the same time warning people about unnecessary travel.

Even his overly theatrical elbow-bump is ridiculous. How can two people do that while observing the 2 metre distance. Why even do it, once again totally unnecessary except as a photo opportunity.

Yes he's a character but one who's totally unsuitable for such a serious situation.

He is definately a character - problem is he should have been a character on The Fast Show or Harry Enfield and Chums <laugh>

You have to laugh,
We all know what lying deceitful snakes politicians are and bemoan the fact.
Yet along comes Boris the Bozo, one of the biggest lying tossers ever to grace parliament and people love him,
Aww but hes got floppy hair and he rode a zip wire ffs.
He's a twát.

He goes to one of the most important meetings in the history of the country and acts like a clown. Ursula von der Leyen has to tell him where to stand, when to take his mask off etc which isn't really that bad ...

... what's cringing is how he deliberately messes up his hair for the photo shoot <doh>

FFS man, get a grip ...

WHY NOT MENTION WHILE YOUR ON HOW MUCH EX PM LABOUR STOLE a certain Mr T Blair hid millions in the scandal the Panama papers
https://www.spearswms.com/panama-papers-legacy-of-tax-avoidance-began-with-blair-brown52923-2/

Not to mention he changed the law so his Human rights barrister wife Cherie could cash in on the new immigration laws he passed by billing the tax payers millions , then there is the ex council owned property he bought for a song and is now his 11 million property portfolio , but hes labour so its convenient for you we forget that trivial piece of information because you only bash Tory right got it

On the contrary I absolutely detest Tony Blair.

I also agree with you about the arsehole Labour and SNP MPs you mentioned. Their party leaders didn't defend them though, in fact Sturgeon did all she could to get the SNP one to resign.

Tony Blair isn't Prime Minister now, this thread is about Boris & COVID which is why we're discussing, er, Boris & COVID.

And we are a ****ing island. We SHOULD have had the easiest job in Western Europe isolating it.

Incompetent is complimentary.

I previously mentioned that a Country such as Australia would find it much easier than GB to take advantage of their Island status.

Today we learn of another outbreak in Sydney.
Restrictions have been ratcheted up, but not quickly enough to stop those residents who can, doing a runner.

My often expressed view is that MOST Politicians are a bunch of glory hunters on an ego trip, hasn't changed.
However I am prepared to credit even Boris, with trying.
If parts of Australia, with all their geograhical advantages, is unable to keep this virus under control, WHAT CHANCE GB?

with due Respect DH4 always twists a thread around to Boris Bashing and will gladly bring up facts from the past to suit his vitriol against Boris while i agree the guy has made mistakes you can clearly see my remarks were directed at him, he sees nothing wrong with what labour has done ever, but will hound a thread with his sly digs.I just want a level playing field and insult both sides but this guy sees no evil whatever labour do.

Then spread the blame evenly mate, its also in the papers that Europe is in total lockdown as well, ok he has made mistakes but so has every European country, he has tons of **** to deal with ,lets stop knocking and support, for every negative comment on her i can pick two which are positive like he is the only prime minister to pump money in the north.

The thread is about Boris and the Christmas fiasco tbf mate ...

... I'm actually living in France but barely interested in what's happening here.

I'm English and it's England that concerns me.

The title of the thread is "Christmas, Boris and hypocrisy" That would lead me to suspect the thread was about BORIS JOHNSON and him being hypocritical at Christmas. Nowhere did it mention the Labour party, JeremyCorbyn, Tony (and Cherie) Blair, or Kier Starmer. I would then presume that it was not about any of those people. Therefore I discussed BORIS JOHNSON. If somebody started a thread about Newcastle United I would not then start talking about Hamilton Academicals as they have absolutely nothing to do with Newcastle United. Just as the Labour party itself or any of it's members/MP's have absolutely nothing to do with BORIS JOHNSON or his handling of the pandemic, or whether he was being hypocritical at Christmas. I thought that was self evident but obviously not for some people.

Yep and why should he also now have to pay council tax on the property in Durham he built (without planning permission) on such a pittance. I blame Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott, Tony (and Cherie) Blair and Kier Starmer for this great injustice.
and would you like me to publish how many labour Mps have been caught fiddling expenses, you are some work evil little toe rag

I couldn't give a flying **** what you publish. You are the one accusing me of derailing a thread about BORIS JOHNSON by talking about BORIS JOHNSON. Can you really not see the irony in what you are saying. You say " let's spread the blame evenly", can you really not see the irony in what you are saying as the Labour party or any of it's members/MP's have absolutely no say in BORIS JOHNSON and the Conservative Party's handling of the Pandemic.
