I think BLM is a divisive organisation and I don't think showing support for it has any place at a football match.

What's wrong with the Kick Out Racism approach?

Hard to define what a racist is imo, do I hate all blacks, whites, asian well YES, its the depth of hate that differs, Seriously I am over the BLM crap, sure they matter but dont all lives? Dont bring USA political crap into the UK or elsewhere for that matter. If they did it here in OZ I would be booing them as well

Whether BLM/Bending the knee has a place or not in football (personally, I thought our club got it right by stopping it and raising awareness through other means), booing those that partake is disrepectful to their beliefs. Akin to booing National Anthems, minutes silence, people at prayer etc

Like they thought that one out as completely as you have Goldhawk.

I'm not sure I have thought it out that deeply...and although I appreciate that #BLM has become a political movement, rather than an upsurge of public feeling, I definitely would not boo players who chose to take a knee.

What the Millwall fans did today is not good

disagree Beth, it is a football match, not a political forum for left wing activists to make a point, I applaud them for booing

Apparently some West Ham fans did the same today. Of course they were all making a nuanced and thought through constructive comment on the nature of racism and efforts to combat it. Unfortunately for them and their brothers at Millwall, booing their teams making this gesture just ensures that they will have to continue to do so in perpetuity, because to stop doing so would look like caving in to racists (even if they are actually intellectuals), so these freedom fighters will have to continue booing until they are all banned from football grounds.

    Brilliant.

You are aware BLM wants to defund the police and abolish prisons? How close to anarchy would that be?

    I am disgusted then ..musty.

Taking a knee is a nonviolent, non interventional peaceful act that does nothing but make a point about racism in sport.

Did you not see the program about Anton Ferdinand last Monday.

To boo someone's strongly held belief is very wrong. I admire the way QPR do it. It is not club policy....but the players do what they feel appropriate.
I will not boo players for that

It’s those booing as nuanced intellectuals I feel sorry for as the message will be lost making the same noise as those doing so out of racism. They need their own sound to differentiate themselves from the boo-ers.

Some do ...alot of #BLM don't.

On here, some people want Brexit others don't. You cannot say all QPR supporters want Brexit

QPR isn't a political movement, Beth.

BLM are, and its stated aims are clear. You buy into them if you support it, in the same way that if you support UKIP, you buy into Brexit.

Despite what Stan says, I believe most people know what BLM stands for.

Col will hate this attempt at wumming. Disappointing.

Honestly though, trying to find excuses for these people is really not a great look. Crack on though. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

Wow, truly a trenchant appraisal of the situation from qprbeth. Supporters of a politically-motivated organisation (one funded, to the tune of hundreds-of-millions of pounds/dollars, by major media companies, governments, celebrities, etc) cannot be said to really support the things that organisation stands for just because the organisation itself states, expressly, that they are its goals. No, if you think about it, it's just like being a Stockport County fan and yet voting for Labour when the guy next to you votes Lib Dem! Hahaha how silly you all are for not realising that

    It was very gentle, Watford...:emoticon-0105-wink:

I'm just pointing out that it really isn't as simple as accusing a bunch of knuckledraggers of racism..on this occasion

How long is taking the knee going to go on for
If the players want to make a point about the waste of young black lives maybe they should come out before kickoff next game and chase each other around with knives

    It was. It’s appreciated.

On the contrary while the whole BLM topic is incredibly nuanced, on this occasion with Millwall I think it really is that simple.
