I’m not against the lad getting the job but our model should be different. We should develop talent and utilise that talent to takes up the leagues not sell them on. He’d be a great academy manager.
I seems that appointments are being made on the basis of the ability to do the job in hand, rather than a "name". Seems like the club have a plan here... Takeover must be done, I don't think for one minute this would be a sd/cm appointment.
he's been working for a club that has no money. they've had to sell on. hopefully he won't have to here. Look at Bellingham - he got him playing regularly for the first team for an entire season at 16. Now, Bellingham is a freak. But if he'd come through the sunderland academy he'd be on loan at Gateshead right now.
There is no where to suggest we would sell them on. That is not his call. He has done his job correctly if there is lots of interest.
