Maybe, but at least we’re ensuring that we get a fee. Rather than walking away on a free or nominal fee set by a tribunal.

I agree tbf .. however having had his fingers burnt in the past I cant help feeling g that his only reason for offering such contracts is heavily financially motivated .. but yes .. sensible manoeuvre

The fees we got for Tymon and Max were very fair. Getting £500k for a kid that didn't look good enough for the Champ was very good. The Tymon one will always sting a little but up till this year, he's had a really difficult time at Stoke. He clearly got more money there, but it was a major cock up on his part to leave us. If he'd have stayed, he'd probably be playing PL football now and at least 100 games under his belt

Tymon's only 21 and is currently in the Stoke first team, he's got plenty of his career left to prove himself.

He'll have to do a lot more than he has so far, if he's ever to end up a regular Premier League player.

It’s no great loss, he was never going to break into the first team, and I always rated him as a better singer than a footballer...

oops, yes I know , coat.

I saw Tymon a lot in the U23's and he was very good. However, I always felt for his age he was physically bigger and stronger than others. I think there has been an element of others catching him up physically, but also maybe he has had a levelling off period in his development.

I'm not sure whether he is a top-class full-back in the making, I always felt his crossing was not up to the level of some other's, i.e Andy Robertson, and that in this day and age is what is needed to be a EPL quality full back. TWT, I guess, with a couple of his 5 year deal left, it remains to be seen what happens next.

Danny Grant, who we were apparently trying to sign from Bohemians, has signed for Huddersfield.

From what I've seen of both, Fleming is the better prospect anyway; I think a lot was made of Tymon because he was young and mixing it with our Premier League first team. Fleming looks to be more dynamic and has a better cross on him.

We should go in for Frazier Campbell then.

<<This>>, totally agree. I've seen a lot of them both play, and I've said it before Tymon was physically more developed for his age, so shone earlier. Tymon's crossing, unless it's improved dramatically was not good enough IMO to advance to be a top-class left-back or wing-back. On the other hand, Fleming's crossing is much better.

Danny Grant on why he chose Huddersfield..

Grant says the the style of play at Town as well as the calibre of coaching under Marcelo Bielsa protégé Carlos Corberan is what convinced him to move to Town.

“The style of play is obviously a big thing. I’m only here a couple of days and it’s massive already, it’s instilled into the players that style of football, so I’m really looking to get going and learn that style as well," Grant told the Town YouTube channel.

“I think obviously the coaching staff is of a really really high calibre. To get better you need to work with the best people and the coaches here are really really good. I look forward to it.”

The fact he went there instead of signing for us will have nothing to do with the fact they're in a higher division, and in a position to offer a higher wage.
