Patrick Quinn, the co-creator of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, has died at the age of 37 Patrick Quinn, who helped launch the viral challenge in 2014 with Peter Frakes and Anthony Senerchia, passed away on Sunday from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a motor neuron disease also known as ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. The Ice Bucket Challenge helped raise more than $220 million for medical research.

Amazing player, but a flawed genius. Coincidentally watched the Kapadia film about him the other day - he was providing for his entire family from the age of 15. Quite a responsibility for a street kid.

Brilliant footballer. He came across in a recent tv documentary as a nice guy, who was used as a cash cow, by his club (Napoli) and the local mafia. RIP Maradona.
