extreme w@ankers who all believe that their version of a book is the true and only one, usually follow that particular version because it allows them to do something that they enjoy/want or gives them a reason to hate something that they dont like. Pointless over zealous religion and the cause of much suffering over the centuries. these people are near polar opposites of others who follow the same religion who see/use religion for peace and harmony...the world would be well rid of them.

Well no, that's intolerant, people can believe what they like as long as it doesn't stop anyone living their lives as they want, but unfortunately the fundamentalist headcases can't see this. I had a meal in Schwedenplatz just near where this happened with my son last year, as I'd remembered the place from a mini-holiday I'd had with a lass I was seeing the year before. Horrible to think about what is happening there.
Religion barely comes into this for me. Obviously a weird thing to say given it is a religiously motivated attack. I think it comes down to people being disenfranchised by their state and the world. After that they lean into extreme beliefs and it galvanises them to kick out at a world that has treated them pretty ****ing woefully. I think it's all indicative of far bigger problems than my God thinks this and your God thinks that. And it could quite easily be stopped before it comes to that.

Sorry mate, don't buy the bolded part. Osama Bin Laden was part of the royal family (although distant). How had the western world treated him F***ing woefully? These people are being used by others who are leading a fairly wealthy lifestyle so if anything they've been treated woefully by their own kind.
Some people use all kinds of excuses to fight, religion is just one of them. If you said to these terrorists, "OK you win we surrender, what do you want to happen next," they wouldn't have a clue. People, as you can see on forums, become enraged for the daftest of reasons. If someone equally as daft agrees with them they're encouraged and become even more outspoken and convinced of their cause. We're all flawed and some more than others. Things like this will never stop, as we'll see on the streets of America if Trump loses. Just another cause and another excuse.
I'm not talking about Bin Laden or other leaders though. I'm talking about the people who become so detached from the world that they are happier to kill themselves trying to harm it than live in it. Look after people. Don't let them become susceptible to radicalisation and brainwashing. Get rid of the cannon fodder. Make the ****ing shotcallers strap the figurative and physical bombs to their own chests.
Which was the point i was trying to make. The shot callers lead a privileged lifestyle and the cannon fodder can't see that that's all they are. It's been going on for centuries and it's not goping to stop anytime soon. The biggest problem is that as society our leaders don't have the balls to step up and stop it. If we blockade them we're accused of breaching their human rights, if we give them a taste of their own medicine we're unfeeling towards their plight. Sadly the shot callers have instilled the ideology or martyrism into their disciples so it makes it hard to combat. Simple solution, cut off the snakes head by whatever means. If innocents start getting killed because of the scum that they inadvertantly shelter they'll soon turn on them imho.
I agree with everything you're saying i just think I'm looking at it from a different angle. I just think no one should think death is preferable to life.
Fr me it is a case of drastic times require drastic measures. The terrorist they have shot dead was a known islamic fanatic who had already served time for threats against the west and trying to join up with ISIS. For me, anyone who has been found guilty if crimes such as this should not be allowed to walk the streets.
W We’ll have thousands walking our streets. How many times has a known sympathiser committed an atrocity here, then after the event, the authorities say “he was on our radar”. Time to send all the people on the “possible extremist” watch list to be sent back to where they came from. If they were born here, lock the ****ers up before they do any harm. Probably I’ll be labelled as a right wing lunatic, but in my eyes it’s common sense.
