Don't agree that he has paid his way. He was pretty good during the first few years but he cost about £40m and is on £18m per year in wages. How long has he been at the club - if it is 8 years as you say then that is £146m in wages!
Doubt he's been on £350k p/w gross his whole time at Arsenal...doesn't really fit with what their payscale was in his first few seasons. But even if their whole cost was £170m over 8 years or something, including transfer fee, they got a fair amount for that in the first five years. Our cost for Carrillo/Hoedt likely exceeds £50m including transfer fees and wages, and I'm confident in stating that Ozil had 3x the positive impact in his time that our pair did.
I feel sorry for Ozil, whether you like him or not he is still probably one of the top 5 players in the league. I'm hoping he gets a move to a smaller club, similar to James to remind everyone how good he really is.
Anyone else sick of hearing about VVD? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54644159 It's like he's ****ing died for god sake. The Liverpool echo even opened up a book of sympathy for people to sign for god sake.
I don't remember such a great public outcry against Steptoe when he deliberately knobbled VVD and ruined our Cup chances.
FFS Don’t they even care that Pickford has completely screwed up my fantasy team which is comprised only of players who have a link to Saints? I mean, bad enough moving Theo to Saints, so I had to drop him as I already have 3 of our players, but I have Toby and Mings in, so I’m stuffed for another defender now ......
He’s only got a 25% chance of playing .... might have to put Cedric in, even though he doesn’t seem to play these days
Or e.g. when Man City lost Laporte to injury. Just as good a player, the difference is Liverpool haven't bothered spending on backup players so one injury to a key player cripples them
