There is an old saying in engineering that if something looks right, then usually it is right.
If he does show up at Saints, then I hope he proves me wrong!

Oh dear! Having read that I am worried. It said that he looked good in the re-start, so I hope he isn't like us, as we looked really good in the re-start and pretty hopeless now
True is; we are skint. We take others castoffs because that's the position we find ourselves in with this ineffective owner. My only hope for the remainder of the transfer window is we off offload the deadwood through either transfer or loaning to improve the bottom line for next season, when hopefully we have a new owner to give us stability and direction to take us forward.

With this squad, we can achieve a 10-14 place finish. Finally, much as l like RH, he needs a tactician on his staff, because unless he sorts that out, our league position will be lower - not relegation, but not far above it.

His tactics were fine after lockdown and I suspect that we will see a return to it but he likes an experiment and is a bit stubborn too. Perhaps he will be pragmatic and realise that a high defensive line does not suit his players or maybe Salisu will make a difference when he finally gets integrated into the team.

Well judging by our fanbase youth players tend to be overrated rather than under.

I'll judge him on what he does here (if he signs) but I've never seen anything from him that makes me think he's what we need to transform our midfield away from bang average.

I disagree. He could be exactly what we need to drive the move from bang average to mediocre.

I still think there will be numerous quality players available on loan between now and the end of the window as the big clubs look to give game time and shift wages and those without money see loans as the best option for this year.

Disagree that RH is not a tactician. The high line is a tactic - when we press and cause teams problems it's great, when we don't or get exposed it's not. A little more quality and depth and we'll be fine. We are not an easy team to play against but the squad is so shallow.

No Butland in the Stoke squad tonight.
No Loftus Cheek in the Chelsea squad.
Davies on the bench for Everton.
Choudhury & Gray starting for Leicester.

Players recently linked to Southampton.

So Butland & Loftus Cheek signing tomorrow then <laugh>

RLC would be too much to hope for surely. No idea how he hasn’t made it yet.

It's a shame that the domestic-only transfer (post 5 October) is only between PL and EFL teams - ie not PL and PL teams. Had it been possible to loan between PL clubs during that time, then there really could have been some attractive loan options available, given an inability to shift those players out abroad. But I'm guessing that's maybe why it wasn't voted for.
