These are really the only ones that matter. Anything and everything else is superfluous to the true biscuit connoisseur.

 

Sports biscuits, great. All the different sports presented on the front of the biscuit. It reminds me of when jumpers were used for goal posts, isnt it great !

 

Broken biscuits are tastier than whole ones, much like cheese or carrot tastes better when grated.

 

All due to the increased surface area exposed to the taste buds.
Never chop up sprouts for kids is my advice.

Boiled sprouts with ice-cream is the answer for kids then ( maybe 50 % of 'em at least).

 

Coriander has a similar genetic thing, it tastes like soap to me.

 

When I was at college ( some years hence) some geezer did his end of year thesis on a study of the best biscuits to dunk in tea. He used various measuring techniques and parameters such as the temperature of the water, size of cup, consistency of the biccy etc..etc..
A brilliant piece of work I'm sure you would agree.
I gather a digestive came out numero uno.

Cardamom tastes like soap to me. I can pick out the taste all too easily unfortunately.

For the mutated gene issue, I believe cucumber also has this issue.

It has to be Ringtons Ginger Snaps, great for dunking, added bonus no-one else in our family likes gingers - result!

I do feel a bit sorry though for the delivery guy, he stands and listen to my rants about City and the nutters in charge, while patiently waiting for his money. At least he's now another convert to anti Allam.

Funnily enough I was just in Waitrose today with my daughter, who unfortunately for her inherited my sweet tooth. She headed straight for the milk chocolate digestives, declaring "these are the best". So I headed straight to the milk chocolate hobnobs and grandly declared "No, These are the Best".

 

My favourite biscuit is McVitie's dark chocolate digestive. Just come back from the local supermarket with 10 packets at half price. They are imported from the UK.

Was a big fan of Wagon Wheels, as was my husband, until as a student back in the 50's he worked for a short time at the Weston factory making them. After hearing about what he saw there I have never had one since.

 

Ghastly thought. Worked in the kitchens at Butlins in Skeggy for the summer of'65. The soup vats were as big as an oversize jacuzzi.
You can imagine the goings on ? Sod those no-tipping campers !!!

Only the lads participated, for obvious logistical reasons.

 

My husband worked at Filey Butlins for a few weeks in the 50's. Applied for a Redcoat job but like you ended up in the kitchens. When I was last in Hull in 1985 we went to visit one of his relatives in Filey and during the visit went to view the Butlins site which had closed down a couple of years earlier.

FILEY seadog worked at Filey Butlins in 1976 at the amusement park.
