Carabau cup, FA cup, of course as a fan I want to win every single game. But in reality we are ****e in cups. We are never going to win either or get to a final, unless we spawned the luckiest draw ever. Games like these have become quite pointless and just add to an already congested fixture list.
‘Right lads, there’s this miserable old g$@ called Bobmid on this QPR message board, and he says you’re always ****e in the cup. This is how we prove him wrong...’
Mark Warburton refered to this match as a “replacement” to the “4th friendly” match and opportunity for the younger players. I doubt that we will see our strongest team.
Well I hope he doesn't give the U23 squad a run out after that 3-3 draw against Billericay last week!
It´s a pity that tomorrow´s game is not in for QPR+ and since I do not know nothing about the Plymouth team (never spent a minute following them) I do hope for a win. I guess the last time the R´s showed any interest in any cup competition must be way back in 1967 - perhaps 1982 Spurs, but apart from that.... nothing unfortunately.
1986 was pretty good too, forgetting the final of course, though us fans were impressive in both numbers and sound at Wembley until the game got going, when I forget everything.
Thanks Oslo - I'd managed to erase the painful memories of that day, and now I'm going to have cold sweats at night thinking about that awful 90 minutes
Oh no, that was 0-3 humiliation against Oxford (didn´t we lose against them recently ?). I was in love with a very, very pretty girl that time and prefered her before the final - shame on me.
I'd got tickets and brought family over from Oslo, went to the London Marathon before the game and I think Grete Waitz won it which made them very happy, but getting back from Wembley was a marathon too many.
I had a very good project in Sandefford in 2012 flying in from Düsseldorf (Germany) - Copenhagen - Sandejford (return) and was surprised how many Norwegian´s loved the R´s - I even met some of them in recent years, had a couple of pints together. We even flew in together several times when LR was half empty and only strangers from Norway, Netherlands and Germany were attracted - at least my experience.
I have some vivid memories of that Oxford match -I was living in a smallish city on the north shore of Lake Superior and working at a company that was once part of Hawker Siddeley, There were a quite a few UK born engineers and designers around around and I left no doubt where my support lay - and I got to eat a double helping of crow on the Monday following Years later, I met Mrs Maple and found out she was born in Oxford - mercifully, she has not yet taunted me about that and after 4 visits to that city I have sort of forgiven them. Sort of
We have a few away on international duty including our new striker. I'm normally a glass half full kind of guy but I've got an iffy feeling about this one.
I am not too disappointed that I am “banned” from watching on QPR+ It could be a blessing in disguise.
