Rumour today (from a mate who knows a mate who knows .....) Spuds offering KWP permanent move plus Sessegnon on loan for the season .....
Not a big fan of Sessegnon but it might be a decent move. Discuss .... (as Tom would say :emoticon-0100-smile)
With PH going the other way? Sounds good to me.

That would be awful business.

The club have said they value Hojbjerg at £35m, but lets say realistically we would get £25m for him. KWP would be max £15m.

Anyone telling me they'd pay £10m to loan Sessegnon for a year plus pay his wages?

Agreed.

Sessegnon on a permanent deal, then maybe. But a one-year loan? Go away Spurs. Not unless cash is thrown in too (or Winks, as I suggested earlier this week).

Yeah, I'd think KWP plus cash would be the obvious choice here. Providing he continues to impress, I'd take KWP plus £10m.

So often we hear rumours of player swap deals etc but they very rarely happen - this summer may be different due to Covid, but apart from Hojbjerg & KWP, I can't see any other players being involved in the deal.

Sessegnon cost Spurs £25 mill a year ago, and Barça were rumoured to be interested. I'd take him like a shot plus KWP for PEH, especially with an option to buy. 2 excellent young players with plenty of time for Ralph to work his magic on them.
£25m due to his potential - which he has not shown so far, early days I admit.

What would be the point in having him on loan - he wouldn't even be a regular starter. I think he could be a good player in time, but a loan would be great for Spurs only.

Levy looking to up the price!

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho was also asked about full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. The 23-year-old has made five appearances for Southampton since joining them on loan in January, including Sunday's win over Manchester City.

"He's a kid that everyone loves here and Daniel Levy has a special feeling for," said Mourinho. "He came here so young, so is a kid who has been here for years and years. He's playing well.

"We let him go because we think he has the right to be happy," added the Spurs boss. "He's happy now I think.

"I'm not in control of the transfer decisions but the general feeling is there's a place for him here. But if his desire is to leave the club in search of happiness I don't think we'd stop him. He's a player with a good value in the market but I don't think we'd stop him doing it."

If we make the KWP deal permanent we are going to get fleeced. Spurs will probably value him around what we value Hojbjerg, straight swap or we pay them some money

Completely disagree with this.

There are at least 3 clubs interested in Hojbjerg - they'd all pay him more so I doubt he would care which club he signed for as he'd consider all a step up.

KWP, as far as I know, only has one interested club and he would obviously want to come here providing his loan spell continues as it has. No way would we do a straight swap - more likely we would sell hojbjerg to Everton and move on to another target at RB.

I agree with you, it is why I don’t see us making the KWP deal permanent. Levy will be a **** about it

Surely spurs are not telling us that they value hojbjerg The same as KWP or tother way round.....? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?. Yes I’d agree with the £10 mil bracket for the youngster but not a penny more.

The KWP situation will be tricky because of the weird transfer roundabout. Spurs have said that they can’t buy without selling. We’ll be in the same position. Levy can push for a high fee for KWP but the fact is that we’ve talked to other full backs who have been on our radar for a while and remain options for (likely) significantly less than the fees mentioned here for KWP. Spurs also don’t need him and he doesn’t get any more valuable by being backup under contract. Everyone is getting excited after he played pretty well against City but I won’t feel like we’ve missed out if we get someone else. The swap discussed seems very unlikely. Swaps are less common because there are so many more variables to agree with four parties as opposed to three. This is going to involve five?

I think Sessagnon is a very good player who has been buried under expectation after he was so incredible for Fulham. He was injured all summer after signing for Spurs and couldn’t play until November, had a disappointing year but I think he has a lot to show still. He’s also the type of player Mourinho would look at and say “no thanks”. I could see our interest being genuine as a guy who is versatile and can work both as a full back and as an athletic forward who would be able to press and win the ball high.

The problem, as I highlighted yesterday, is not including an option in KWP's loan. Consequently, we now have to negotiate with Levy (assuming that we want to keep him). Whether as part of a deal for PEH, or as a standalone deal; Levy will now be involved. And Levy loves nothing more than to screw people right over.

Six months ago, he was a squad player who Jose had no interest in, and therefore who Spurs were seemingly happy to offload to whoever. Now he's a player who we (hopefully) are very keen to buy. Levy can work with that.
According to the Echo we have an option to buy KWP in the summer.

I just looked on Echo and in the first announcement article they say there’s not a believed to be a purchase option. Then when they announced the loan extension there was no mention of it. Weird for Mourinho to be discussing value if a clause to purchase was already in place.
