One question I got, I've seen it said that the virus can live on glass for up to 72 hours, but the only way it will infect you is if it comes in contact with your mouth. Ie hand to face. So would this affect a pub as an example, that a server touches the edge of the glass as they pick it up, to then pour a pint. If they are infected with the virus, would that contact with the glass then infect you?

Possibly, or they handle the glass normally, you pickup the glass they handled and then inadvertently touch your face later.

Doesn't have to be a glass, could be anything.

Bloody minefield potentially, i suppose it comes down to the law of averages, how likely is it to happen.

Starbucks banned reusable cups for this reason. Pints in plastic cups when pubs reopen.

Turns out the government are recommending the use of a mask in enclosed spaces.

Shame it wasn't mentioned in Johnson's speech

This idea that literally anyone who can't work from home should be encouraged to go back to work still seems crazy. I already know of a few ppl who are returning tomorrow and have cherry picked what they can and shouldnt do i.e. take the bus to and from work.

Imagine how many thousands, tens of thousands? will be doing that. Tomorrow should be interesting.

This reporter is right, that chart is bollocks.

Yeah the chart seems like nonsense to me, like they are trying to dumb down the concept so people understand. Thought it immediately when it came on earlier and seemed to show the R being 1 as the top of the curve.

The whole presentation was a [HASHTAG]#joke[/HASHTAG]

Why introduce a 5 point scale then say we're at 3.5 <laugh>

Plus if the second highest deaths in the world is just a 3.5 what do they have planned for level 5?

The R rate was something like 4.6 in the UK at its peak iirc so yeh the graph is bollox.

Much like the "we are literally testing hundreds of thousands every day".

Yet another problem with the [HASHTAG]#graph[/HASHTAG] - notice that there are 3 times as many cases/deaths in the "good" blue region than the "bad" red region?

The colour just means yeah more people are dying but we're making more money now <laugh>

[HASHTAG]#prediction[/HASHTAG] the Tories are actively planning to cause 150k deaths and Boris repeating "could have been 500k" during his speech is so they can present it as a victory

Sounds [HASHTAG]#legit[/HASHTAG]
The government are actively planning to cause hundreds of thousands of deaths. Makes perfect sense. Has @aberdude hacked your account?

IMO they reckon they can sell something like 150k as a win but they'll be disappointed with fewer than that in the sense that they could have opened the economy faster

Best part of 50k are already dead and all Boris says is "we avoided a catastrophe" and "the NHS wasn't overworked" i.e. he thinks we could have coped with even more deaths

If they'd coloured the red bit green it would've looked a lovely pond with a golf course.

Again the point you’re trying to make gets lost by you saying stupid **** like they’ll be disappointed if less than 150k die. Surely even you realise how ******ed that sounds?

Just make a regular point like a regular person!
