Former Real Madrid president makes remarkable claim after Liverpool Champions League defeat Ramon Calderon was president of Real Madrid between 2006-2009 Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League first knockout round first leg proves La Liga is a stronger competition than the Premier League. Saul Niguez scored the only goal of the game as Jurgen Klopp watched his side fail to register a shot on target for only the second-time under his stewardship. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...s/former-real-madrid-president-makes-17776806
I'm pleased we kept it down to one. 0-0 would have been a fair result in that game. Really weak referee. It does make a difference. As Klopp said it's only half time, all to play for.
I keep seeing this "no shots on target stat" - I thought Mo's shot that was deflected for a corner was on target? Atletico only had 2 themselves, apparently.
What frustrated me was Salah passing the ball to Firmino when he didn't have to and must have seen he was offside. That was the type of situation we were waiting for all night to score.
I've just watched the highlights and I can't tell. It could be miscontrol, a pass to Firmino or a pass to himself. It was a good goal despite the offside. Let's get rid of offside eh
I thought it was mis-control. It was actually one of the better first touches of the night for us though
