Great 2nd half, Parky is'nf half flogging his starting line-up. Dont know why he's leaving it l8 to change things, moment he brings Lafferty on we score.
Roker Report player ratings: https://www.not606.com/threads/sund...february-ko-15-00.381678/page-7#post-13567041 Jon McLaughlin: 6/10 Made several decent saves to keep Sunderland level in the first period, was quick off his line when he had to be, but dodged a bullet after naively picking up Tom Flanagan’s back pass. Jordan Willis: 6/10 Real mixed bag with the ball, produced some great challenges after struggling early on with Ipswich’s movement. Bailey Wright: 7/10 Read play well, made crucial interventions in the Sunderland area, and amazingly for a Sunderland defender passed out from the back successfully. Tom Flanagan: 4/10 His decision-making and passing were dreadful throughout, looked lightweight and flat-footed when tested one-on-one. Luke O’Nien: 5/10 Exposed defensively for the second game running, was forced into being passive after picking up a dumb yellow card early on. George Dobson: 6/10 Was involved in most of Sunderland’s good play after the break, saw an excellent through ball go to waste as it was aimed at the glacially slow Charlie Wyke. Max Power: 5/10 Looked like a Sunday League Steven Gerrard picking the wrong pass and trying too much over and over again. Denver Hume: 5/10 Struggled defensively in the first half and failed to deliver with his final ball in the second. Chris Maguire: 7/10 An absolute Jekyll and Hyde game, Sunderland’s worst player in the first and best in the second. Lynden Gooch: 5/10 Hit post after a great individual run, but struggled mightily outside of that, giving away the ball and spending more time trying to referee the game than help his teammates. Charlie Wyke: 5/10 Improved as the game wore on, but missed another sitter as he once again failed to convince as a top level League One striker. (SUB) Kyle Lafferty: 7/10 Much better than Portsmouth, held up the ball well and worked tirelessly after his introduction. (SUB) Conor McLaughlin : n/a Classic time-wasting substitution in stoppage time. Man of the Match Bailey Wright
Great recovery tackle by Flanagan. 4/10 is a bit harsh. Crucial toe on the ball by Willis from the backpass free kick. Just put their guy off at the far post and he put it over.
Crap first half but they made up for it, who would have thought that playing the ball on the ground was better than endless long balls. Ipswich weren't bad at all so a well earned win. Dobson MOTM for me.
Great second half. Dobson was tremendous today and great finish by McGuire. also liked the look of Lafferty and Wyke up top, they had there defense all over the place .
Monster result. Win the spare game and we'll be a fixture in the play-off spots. Keep going and we can push for top 2.
back passes free kicks are virtually never given but hey ! it's poor Sunderland who cop it. the refs are a joke in this league. We looked a different team in the 2nd half though. The other teams are flying though as well, i don't think it will be top 2 for us but 6th.
Great stuff second half, tough game that. I thought Ipswich were decent. Makes the win all the sweeter. Great strike by Maguire to get the points, deserved it after the second half performance. Batten down the hatches for the storm tonight folks getting a bit wild on the way home; stay safe! League one Refs
The reffing in this league is another level mind. I don't understand how the disparity can be so great, like how do you get some of this stuff wrong? Which leads you to the obvious conclusion that the biggest differentiator between the good and bad refs is their ability to handle pressure and make unbiased assessments.

As they say a game of two halves...we were very poor first half and were fortunate to go in 0-0. Much better 2nd half and deserved the win, just. We are back in the play-offs but way off the automatic promotion. Got to win again on tuesday to cement play-off spot
