I remember well that April afternoon in 1962, when most on here were in their nappies! When we beat the Villa 2-0 to take the 1st Divition title, at the first time of asking. Mayhem at PR. Ray Crawford & Ted Phillips scoring 72 goals between them that season.....72!! Sir Alf such a modest decent bloke. We wont see the likes of him in football. Pride of Suffolk. We salute you Sir Alf!
Have to hand it to Ipswich, they had the two finest gentlemen as their managers, absolute legends the pair of them!
A truly remarkable achievement, second division title, division one winners in the first season and World Cup winner. A proper gentleman and an Ipswich legend forever.
Arrr Jungle Boy what a player, was only 9 but it was seeing my first game when Crawford scored that started my process of falling in love with the town. Guess we wouldn't be allowed to sing that these days lol
Hi FM, I have finished four weeks of intensive radiotherapy and I have an appointment with the consultant on Thursday 6th Feb. Fingers crossed
One thing about prolonged radiotherapy is that when it's finished you can sleep for England. I'm sleeping about 15 hours a day atm so forgive me if I'm late responding
