Sorry...but I hope he doesn't play again til August. He needs to properly heal rather than be rushed back...yet again!
So despite us being **** (again), we’ve actually gained a point on Chelsea, Utd and Leicester this weekend.
I was thinking this too. Chelsea and Leicester have hit patches of poor and inconsistent form, United haven't really got going, Arsenal's rebuilding project is probably even more extensive than our own. Wolves are looking mightily impressive, not least of all considering the fact they've had to juggle EL footy too. As I said to BG yesterday, if anyone deserves CL football next year, it's them. Sheff Utd also have so much fight in them, but their PPG rate is tailing off of late. It's the hope that kills you...if only we could, but I just can't see us putting any sort of run together to capitalise on the mess around us.
It`s been a poor league this year, with all the big clubs being in transition or injury ravaged bar Livarpool. City lack decent centre halves and have suffered with key injuries and Leicester have a reasonably settled team also but lack any depth. The perfect storm for The Dippers in many ways with their only real competition ruined by injuries and lack of quality at the back, while they remained largely injury free. Add all that to the standard Pool bias among the refs and var, the media campaign to see their darlings win the league etc, and you have an easy Pool title win.
True, Liverpool have be benefited from the lack of competition. The period 1997-2003 when Utd and Arsenal were at it at hammer and tongs was the strongest period in the PL era. The encouraging thing for those of us who are fans of such bang average teams is that top 4 is still not out of the question - although it really should be.
He's retired from international football, but if he returns he could. He suits a counterattacking style alongside Sterling and Sancho.
Retired or plain tired? The latter should be Harry's excuse. In a way I'm glad he's having a couple of months off before they "kill" him!!!!
It probably means that you didn't read the Sunday Express in the 50's, 60s or 70's... https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/AICMFP It's just a little light hearted suggestion that such an opinion is generally likely to come from a Scouser..
