What first occurred on the 6th of January 1951 when City beat Everton 2-0 in the Third Round of the FA Cup?
Okay, that was quick, so as a bonus, not City related, but something I've only just found out. The city of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, has a statue to honour its founder. Vancouver sprang up from Gastown (‘Gassy’s Town’), which was named after John ‘Jack’ Deighton (Gassy Jack), who was born in Hull in November 1830 At his Globe saloon in New Westminster, Jack Deighton gained a reputation for relating many adventurous tales to anyone who would listen (or slake their thirst with his whisky), thus acquiring the nickname ‘Gassy Jack’. In 1867, returning home after an extended trip away due to health reasons; and having left his saloon, whisky and cash in the care of an American friend, Jack Deighton discovered that his saloon business was bankrupt; he subsequently left New Westminster in a canoe with his wife and her mother, and moved to the Burrard Inlet, near the mouth of the Fraser. Here he set up another saloon named the Globe, around which a settlement soon grew up. In 1970 a group of Gastown developers commissioned Vern Simpson to create a statue of ‘Gassy Jack’. After being relocated several times it now stands on the site where Deighton built his Globe saloon in 1867. In 1986 the statue was dedicated to the city of Vancouver by the current owner of the site, and a new plaque was installed on the base of the statue identifying ‘Gassy Jack’ as the ‘Founding Father of Gastown’ and pointing out that: ‘John Deighton was born in Hull, England’. Jack ‘Gassy Jack’ Deighton died aged 44 in 1875, in Vancouver. He is interred at the Fraser Cemetery in New Westminster, British Columbia, where the inscription on his headstone reads: Here lies John “Gassy Jack” Deighton 1830–1875 Sailor, Prospector, Steamboatman, Pioneer, Hotelman at New Westminster & Granville “I have done well since I came here”
Wow, I’ve lived around there and didn’t know he was from Hull. There is an amazing steam clock that sits in the heart of Gas Town.
In the FA cup it was. Way before my time but there were some big names in the West Ham side. Bobby Ferguson John McDowell Bobby Moore Tommy Taylor Billy Bonds Frank Lampard Trevor Brooking Pat Holland Clyde Best Bryan Robson Dudley Tyler In the league cup it was 2015/16 season v Swansea.

Reckon so 47 years of mainly unsuccess since, inc 2 defeats against non, league teams but also a FACF That WHU 73 game was on Yorkshire, some bitter vermin **** has no doubt wiped the tape after LUFC's humiliation against SAFC in the final of that season's competition.
