I don’t see VAR correcting the mistakes it set out to put right. It just adds another layer of subjectivity to the decision making and is rarely objective because most reffing decisions are based on judgement anyway.

But more than that, it’s punishing teams for absolute technicalities, like the handball and offside rule, when in the past it was always at the refs discretion to give the benefit of the doubt to the attacking team.

Worst of all though is the way it kills fans enjoyment at celebrating goals, that in itself goes completely against the spirit of the game, for me that’s reason on its own to bin it off.

I think that’s selective tbh, it has correctly ruled out and allowed goals that would have previously been wrong decisions.

The area it’s failed in, is the microscopic analysis of offsides and the off field ref overruling the on field one for penalties etc, as opposed to the ref using the pitch-side screen to do his own review. The time taken has also been way too long. Clear and obvious should dictate it takes 30 seconds or less, otherwise it’s not clear and obvious by definition.

It does tend to be a blokes verses women’s evening, especially at the beginning. It does tend to be quite funny watching the blokes slowly disappear back in doors!

BBC website running a quiz to see who can name the starting 22 from when Liverpoo won 5 -0 at WHL which was AVB's last game as our manager.

I particularly like the bit pointing out that today's match comes almost 7 years to the day after that match.
That took place on Sunday 15th December 2013.... which is 6 years 3 weeks and days or using a BBC calendar "almost exactly 7 years to the day." <laugh>

I’m resigned to us getting beat. I just hope it doesn’t get embarrassing.

    Palace look desperately poor.

  10. I expect an utter drubbing.

I am hoping that, in beating us, 'Pool expose every one of our weaknesses and frailties, so that it it is crystal clear to Levy that no manager in the world is going to be able to paper over the cracks and allow him a cheap "get out" to save him the expense of renewing the squad.

  11. I hope Mourinho doesn't park the bus.

I'd rather we go down fighting, than cowering.

I think we're all looking forward to that drubbing of which you speak, mate.

You'll probably win though, and it'll be the start of...well, of nothing much really.

Arsenal look very vulnerable to the self inflicted blunder when Palace press them in their half. Palace aren't getting in behind, but they may not need to.

Luiz is an accident waiting to happen. You just have to put enough pressure on him.

Tbf, his pass created the goal.

But, for a defender, he has too many brain farts.

He’s a good footballer, he’s just always had a **** up in him, and as his legs are ageing they’re getting more frequent. Hopefully we’ll see one second half :)
