We had that one. The first 45, I remember was little white bull by Tommy Steel.

Cheers Dad, I mean you could've got Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields, but no...

My Dad had that exact same single, and used to try and whistle to it, try being the operative word <laugh>. It used to get played regularly even when we got a humongous music centre......

And to make matters worse I am now humming it as I type..... so not only thanks to Kemp’s senior, but also thanks to Kemp’s junior and BT senior without whom I wouldn’t be humming this god forsaken tune....

just in case anyone feels the urge to join in....

Once apon a time there was a little white bull
Very sad because he was a little white bull
Little white bull
All the black bulls called him a coward
Just cos he was white. :emoticon-0159-music:emoticon-0159-music

2 replica pearl handle six guns which fired caps. They were part of a complete junior Cowgirl outfit sent by my aunt in the USA. Outfit included boots with spurs that jingled and jangled, a Stetson hat,a frilled shirt with a photo of cowboy Gene Autry on the front and holsters for the guns. Was about 6 years old at the time back in 1947.

Thereafter it made me a much desired member of the local street play gang as every one wanted to borrow the guns!
When my youngest was little (Maybe 5 or 6 I think) her Christmas list was
1. Cowboy guns and holsters
2. A Mercedes
3. A rubber plant

!!!

She loved the guns and the holsters, wore them constantly, even occasionally with a fake Stetson when riding a pony!

The small model of the Mercedes was probably a bit of a let down, but she still seemed to like it

She decided she didn’t want a rubber plant after we asked if she knew what one was and she said she didn’t...

Priceless memories :emoticon-0137-clapp

It continues:

Only black bulls go to the bullring,
Only black bulls fight.

Do you have other songs which celebrate cruel blood sports or just that one?

So, hubby and I went Christmas shopping at Meadowhall last week, when I suddenly noticed that he was missing and as we had a lot to do, I called him on his mobile.

The conversation went along the lines, me " Where the hell are you, you know we have lots to do."
He said "You remember the jewellers we went into about 10 years ago, and you fell in love with that diamond necklace? I could not afford it at the time and I said that one day I would get it for you?"

Don't mind admitting little tears started to flow down my cheek (the face one, not incontinent) and got all choked up… "Yes, I do remember that shop." I replied.

"Well I am in the bicycle shop next door to that."

Sorry, Couldn’t resist a Chrimbo joke................I’ll get me coat.

Throw in a packet of Scampi Fries and I might consider it <laugh>

Honestly, I ain't letting it go now I have it. It'll be the last record I let go of alongside my grandad's original copy of Please Please Me (that doesn't have the cover though).

Couldn't agree more mate. I've got quite a few vinyl that are apparently worth a few hundred a pop, but I'd only waste the money on things far less precious to me.

As I'm about to go into web hibernation (as of the end of today) for a a few weeks, just wanted to wish everyone on here a very happy Christmas and a prosperous, healthy new year. And I'd also like to thank you all again for the help and support you've given me in the writing and promotion of my book. You're all magnificent. Have a good one.
