Laura Pidcock Labour MP on BBC Politics giving a car crash interview on immigration. Claiming that Immigration is inhibited by the cost of the fares getting here! How do they let these people go up against seasoned interviewers. Tories refused to put anyone up on immigration. What a shambles.

Why do all the other countries have Statesmen and Stateswomen while we have buffoons?

The biggest buffoon of all has got to go and it is in our power to get rid of him.

Probably because we model ourself as 'Little America' ..... and they do have the biggest buffoon of them all, so we just copy what they do.

I think the world has gone to hell. I was chatting with a bunch of intelligent young Muslims and Christians today and they were all convinced the world was made in 6 days, man is not descended from apes, and dinosaurs are a hoax designed to test faith.

Report on C4 News tonight of Downing St attempting to buy off Brexit candidates by the offer of jobs and honours. This would surely be criminal action under the Representation of the People Act.

I'm almost certainly missing the point here but what gave you the impression they were intelligent?

Haha, good point! They were articulate on other topics but utterly brainwashed on that one.

I brought it up as extreme thought has been normalised by the internet. The current generation is a victim of the ease of information - and propaganda - has actually made people far more ignorant.

My son told me recently about a conversation he had with friends in a pub. These people weren’t stupid (according to him), they were all had educations of some sort, some had been to university. He was the only one in a large group of people who believed that astronauts had landed on the moon.

I so want the UK to be a part of this: https://electrek.co/2019/11/14/european-union-stop-fossil-fuel-funding-2021/#disqus_thread

Like the link says, the European Investment Bank will stop funding the fossil fuel industries in two years. This is massive. I don't expect many to realise the huge significance of this, and don't take my word for it. Look it up. But if you won't look it up, trust me, it's massive. We [the world] subsidise the FF industries to 6.7 trillions of dollars per year. And the EU has a big part in that. That's a lot of spare cash to invest in healthier ways.

From the Guardian live feed:
Nigel Farage, the Brexit party leader, has described the behaviour of Rupert Lowe, who stood down as a candidate for his party in the Labour/Tory marginal Dudley North yesterday, allowing no time for it to choose a replacement, as “disgusting”. Farage also offered an apology to voters in the constituency, who now will not have the option of voting for his party. Lowe, a Brexit party MEP, announced his decision moments before the 4pm deadline for nominations.
