Here we go again, another home game, a match we should be winning with ease given our recent form. Ole has put out what seems to be his favoured side once again. Maguire captains the side and Lingard warms the bench as does Rojo while Williams gets another run-out in defence.
Good solid performance, strong defensively, Fred is playing another decent game and we seem to be in complete control but still look vulnerable in set pieces which seems Brighton's best chance of scoring at the moment. Pereira's goal was a lucky deflection and our second was an OG even though McTominay claimed it. VAR had a look at whether Maguire handled the ball in the build up to the goal but the goal stood.
There you go, a stupid goal from a corner - terrible defending. Good strong second half, none of the usual drop-off in pace or application and Rashford could/should have scored at least two more. Williams had a great game in defence, Fred is growing in influence each game and the front three is starting to work well together. It is hard to see how Shaw would get back in the side TBH, he wouldn't offer anything more than our existing options (Williams, Young and even Rojo) and if we are forced to play Pogba then he can only slot in where Pereira plays - but I would prefer he was sold. We are playing like a decent unit and there was some fantastic, free-flowing and attacking football all over the pitch. Wan Bissaka is immense, there should be an automatic award each match for his contribution. We suffered a couple of niggling injuries but nothing that the international break won't cure.
I have yet to see this match. But judging by the result, I would rather we never play Pogba again and get the team working together as a unit toward a common goal.
