That was poor. This team is poorly led, poorly motivated, poorly managed and basically not very good.
He comes across as a very nice, humble kid and someone I work with knows him well and says the same- not ‘that sort’. Like Bowen we just have to appreciate these players while they’re with us.
He’s right. I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more. Taarabt (thought I’d give him a mention) used to get far worse and that was only a decade ago.
It's the first time in a long while I've left the KC angry. We haven't looked like the home side when playing at home for weeks now, I don't know what's changed, but in the post match interview, he claimed that he hadn't told them anything different. Well, Grant, you could have fooled me, because a team capable of mid table didn't turn up today, let alone the top 6. Long made some brilliant saves, but he can't keep everything out. The defence for their part was alright, barring Elder who looked rushed back and not ready. Not sure what happened to Bob Fleming. Coughed up a lung or something. At one point, they were attacking down his flank and he was running towards the CB position. The midfield is where the real problem lies. We're supposed to play with three CMs, yet none of them actually played central midfield. Because we have wingers who don't track back and full backs that are horribly static, there's a huge gap when teams attack down the wing, which means the CMs have to go wide. If you watch the game back, look at the centre circle when we have the ball. Not a City shirt in sight. You can't have three central midfielders and nobody actually in the middle of the park, it's insanity. They're supposed to be the metronome of the side, yet none of them dictated play today, we let QPR do that and we couldn't keep up. Our passing range was woeful. It's a good job our keeper and centre halves can pick a 50 yard pass, because our midfielders don't. Irvine wasn't there today. He tried, but you can't expect somebody playing two games in Asia this week to fly back and be 100% match ready. Batty would have been the better option by far. He says it isn't the system, but buddy, it's the system. Nearly all teams at this level play 4-2-3-1, or some variation of it. It's why we did so well under Adkins. This formation worked in League 1 because teams aren't as skillful and you get away with much more. But not in a division made up of mostly ex Premier League players and teams. The lack of a back up or change of system was really irksome as well, what good is taking off a player if you're just going to put the exact same type of player on? None of the subs were tired or injured, it made no sense. Eze was their star man by far, he won't be there in January. But I remember in the not too distant past when Jarrod would make runs like that and draw penalties. Ah, those were the days.
It seems McCann has signed a load of midfielders that are completely pointless. IE Honeyman and Silva. Irvine has been **** this year an all, he can’t pass, at all. Stewart was strangely crap. I could tell we where gonna lose after the first minute, we sat back let their full backs push on an all, gave them too much respect, every pass was hopeful and we gave the ball away so many times. It’s not gonna happen but get Henriksen back, we need him desperately.
Are you an idiot the player was on the touch line if Bowen stood next to him he’s knock it behind him for the player to run onto ffs
Again we were out thought tactically and don’t know how to nullify opponents. And terrys subs did nothing to change that It was awful truly ducking awful Most boring first half since Knobhead Nigel Pearson was in charge Truly dreadful The second half continued in the same vein with no tactical adjustment whatsoever Why not ????? We were reduced to just lumping it long and they were camped in our half for most of the game. it’s that insanity quote I want him to do well but he’s not learning and with the players we have there is absolutely no reason we can’t be too 6 He’s not getting the vest out of the players we have His system isn’t working And now the players look dispirited playing it We don’t press we just string the players across the pitch and hold It’s ****ing awful
Ohrightyeahbecausethat'sdefinitelywhatwouldhavehappened. It's his job to mark the bloke, to stop him getting the ball. Where he was stood he might as well have been in the player's lounge with a pint and a Lambert. Because he played it to the bloke anyway. So yes, there was a chance he might have passed it around him but that's considerably better than DEFINITELY letting him get the ball. Come on mate, play the game.
Sorry but you’re talking **** He was stood on the touch line There was nowhere else for Bowen to Stand so Bowen was overloaded 2v1 It’s not difficult And it’s why they did it twice as we were too stupid to cover it If you’d have noticed in the second half Lichaj was out there with him offering support so they didn’t do it Hope this helps
I love to read tactical ideas here, not sure what's right or wrong, but it's clear for me. Something must be done to improve results. Every team must be composed around top skilled attacking players. Like probably Bowen for current squad roster. Does McCann doing that properly? It's main question for me. I don't know the answer cause i'm not watching full games.
Well, what can you say? There's not a pass in midfield, no pace, Grosicki more disinterested than usual (he's seen what we've offered him). Absolutely zero spirit, no leadership. Terry's high pressing game non existent, ball renention zero, lost every second ball and our striker hardly won a header all afternoon on top of that a head coach who really needs to get his head out of his backside. Apart from that I though we were pretty good. Interesting their coach was on the touchline, shouting, cajoling and kicking every ball, ours stood with his hands in his pockets, very reminiscent of Parkinson P.
I think it speaks volumes when listening to RH post-match interviews with McCann and then Bowen, that the only sense spoken was from Bowen who is 22 YO. Either McCann doesn't know what he is talking about or he is delusional. Jarrod spoke how I saw the game, what McCann said just didn't reflect what I saw. You also have to question putting both Turbo & Irvine back into the side, Irvine had flown tens of thousands of miles as well as playing 2 games and Turbo just looked jaded after his International exploits. Having said that the whole team looked as if they had flown around the world in the last 2 weeks.
With the players we've got we have huge potential, but at the beginning of the season thought top 6 was improbable. I've seen absolutely nothing to change that view as yet. Lose Bowen and Turbo in Jan and theres no f**king chane of the top 6, more likely bottom 6!
