Hand over the reigns to someone with enough cash to buy the club and invest in the playing staff, fair enough, hand over to someone who borrows money to buy the club, has to service the loan on the stadium as well, and may well use it as a cash cow, forget it, look at Manure and l'arse.
Little surprise that the player showing balls off the pitch is the one who shows it on the pitch! Top Man, Moussa!
Just read that since his debut in 2012 he has made the second-most errors leading to goals out of any PL keeper. Top shot-stopper but he hasn't improved one iota in 6 years. He, like many of our players, have sadly reached the end of the line. I wouldn't mind Gazza getting a run of games, not least of all because my wife isn't so against me watching Spurs when he is playing, although for the life of me I can't imagine why...
That stat is probably because he’s played more games than most keepers but it feels like he’s making errors more and more frequently doesn’t it
Totally agree about him having a lot more errors in him in recent years and this consistency has gone down. However how many goalkeepers still existed in the pl back then and we first teamers (de gea?). So if course with way more games he will have more errors
To be honest,I've seen Spurs go down the pan many times over the years, but 2-7 at home followed by a 3-0 thrashing by Brighton(?)….now that's a little too much, even for me!
Also the unknowable part of the equation is how many goals has he prevented that all bar a few goalkeepers would have conceded.
I didn't watch either the Colchester or Bayern matches. I saw this one though. I thought I knew, but I didn't. Wow! We really are s*&^e right now.
Did not see the game. What is the executive summary ?? Heads went down and no fight once conceding ?? The "diamond" of drudge ?? Slow slow sideways slow ?? Eff ups playing out from the back ??
Nothing broken. It turns out he only needed the pain killers when he remembered that Levy was his boss
Just calamitous. Gave them too much time on the ball. All over the pitch, from the beginning of the match. Too many players giving the ball away needlessly. Misplaced passes from players that should know better. An overall horror show. We are fast becoming the team to be targeted, to reverse bad runs of opponents. Just like the dog days. I am no manager and I have no idea what needs doing but I'd probably play youngsters as much as I could to avoid the low energy of some of our players. Especially in the FA cup. Some of these seniors are DONE!
So this graphic from 2016 is doing the rounds with the Twitter/Reddit crowd... please log in to view this image ...but, like everything from the Twitter/Reddit crowd it misses the point: while Saltypool did have an expensive rebuild in the three years since, that comes down to a combination of FSG having a vast amount of money sloshing around to throw at projects such as this coupled to Saltypool having higher cash reserves anyway due to considerably more seasons of CL qualification and the increased ticket revenue that Anfield brought per game compared to WHL that mean that transfer fees, wages and (most importantly) agent's fees were less of an obstacle than they are for us, best demonstrated by Sadio Mane demanding his wages be trebled for him to leave Southampton when we "merely" offered to double them Do I believe that we have slacked off on rebuilding? Yes and no: on the one hand the likes of Sanchez and Foyth indicate there has been a long-term plan to replace Verts and Toby in place for a couple of seasons now and there's similar effort in midfield with Ndombele and Winks, however as things currently stand our regeneration efforts seem to stop dead in central midfield (with Parrott the only real exception) and it does have to be said that Skipp, KWP, Tanganga and Eyoma all could have featured more in the last season or so The real issue with the latter point is we know what happens when Poch changes things: we started the season with Sanchez and KWP playing instead of Verts and Aurier and the fanbase lost their collective minds because of it, and similar can be said for everyone taking to Twitter demanding we don't sell Danny Rose, meaning our fanbase wants Poch to change things but to do so without changing the personnel in order to change things - and if that sounds sane to anyone, then I have some bad news for you regarding your sanity...
