T.Eaves sounded T.Oothless on the radio. I won't give up the day job. Early days still but hopefully the new signing Balrogh will be a decent wildcard, and not just somebody who sounds like was in the Lord of the Rings fighting Frodo
Dont think we competed for even minutes today. Load of rubbish and definitely not impressed with management so far.
And Nigel Adkins! My first game of season back today, can’t believe 2nd part of last season Nige had us playing exciting football and despite we have kept at least 7 (including Henriksen) of that first team, we looked a shadow of that team, a shambles. 2 points lost for me, not pretty, well pretty awful in 2nd half. A poor Wigan side showed us a lesson in control of the ball and possession football. We just couldn’t keep the ball, hoof ball won’t work against better teams. I really feel for Eaves, at least 3 real good chances for him, easier to score than miss, but looks like a poor man’s Will Keane, out of confidence, out of luck and out of this league, not up to Championship level. Worrying to hear McCann say post match that the new larker will be about 6/7 weeks away from fitness. McCann doesn’t inspire me from his box, negative body language, and arrogant, stubborn post match interview with Burnsey. When pushed about Henriksen, who had tweeted Burnsey to say he is match fit and available, he responded with “Henriksen has to earn the right to get ahead of his current midfield 4.” Well, on today’s showing he would be in, if up to me, and certainly on the bench ahead of a youngster with zero league experience. Doesn’t sound like he is going to be eating humble pie and making a call to Markus any time soon. Positives - good warm up. Great reception for David Meyler.
If all our chances fell to Bowen we'd be fine , not sure how Eaves missed that header it was easier to score
The usual 150 ecky thumpers from Wiggun today inc a bizarre young troop of Harry Potter types attempting to goad E1.
Have to say the questions posed by Burnsy after match weren't exactly pressing but GMc was very tetchy .. reminded me of when Browny lost the plot towards the end of his tenure ... I suspect his stubbornness may be his downfall .. not accepting the second half wasnt good enough .. claiming the lads played well !! Really spat his dummy out when asked about Henriksen .. first he wasnt fit then gave some excuse about him declining to play at Swansea and has to earn his place past the current crop of midfielders .. seems he too has a naughty step like Browny and a long memory .. gone by Christmas me thinks unless u turns are done
