At present, my best bet to lay bet is Man U to win the Premiership at 40/1. Bound to be half that price at some stage with the pace they now have Can't think of any horsey ones at present
Maybe Altior is a good bet to lay given that I'll be surprised if his odds don't shorten and I'll be happy to have him if they don't King George Boxing Day 7/2 Queen Mother Champion Chase 11th March, 5/1
Wouldn’t be doing any of those three. Man Utd start with Chelsea, Wolves, Palace and I wouldn’t put them down as certainties for any of those. Lose one early and I can’t see them trading shorter. As for Altior.... he’s trained by Henderson so who knows what races he will run in!!
Im tempted to back Arsenal not making top six this season. We just cant attract any top players like we used to and have a tight arse yank running the club who wont open his wallet either.I reckon Everton or Leicester will push us very close for sixth position.
Leeds for the Championship title - you just know they will start well then screw up again All together now to the Joy Division tune: "Leeds, Leeds are falling apart, again"
Ive a feeling Wolves will find it tougher and will be another promoted club who will taste second season sydrome.Playing in the Europa league will also not help either, look at Burnley last season. They are better side than Burnley though so should be enough for a top ten finish,i'll slot them in for ninth. My top ten prediction City(Esp if De Bruyne not Injured) Liverpool Spuds Rags Chelski Everton Arsenal Leicester Wolves West Ham
Man C are 1/2 to win outright. That seems ridiculous to me and is an obvious lay with the option to bet later if those odds drift
Yeah pains me to say it Smokey. We just cant attract the top players anymore.Bar the two lads up front we dont have any other equality players in our squad.Looking at the players we are being linked to doesnt fill me with confidence either. It all stems from the chairman:greedy yank just in it for the money.
I've always been a bit of an Arsenal fan (but not emotionally attached like I am with Wycombe) and to me they aren't the team they used to be. I'll be surprised if they finish above Man U. Their new young defender from Palace is **** hot and they have some real pace down the flanks. And there is plenty of depth there in the squad. I think they will be a much better side this year and the 40/1 on offer is very generous. We'll see soon enough
I quite like Man United but I just think they look poor. If they offloaded Pogba and signed one or two decent players then I'd give them a better chance. But their defence is piss poor and I can't believe they paid so much for that kid from Palace. Looks to me like people are seeing them as desperate and taking advantage and they're paying over the odds. This lad from Newcastle is another example, crazy money even in this day and age. I hope I'm proved wrong but I can see Man United being out of the running for a top four finish well before the end of the season. I agree about Arsenal lacking some quality but I really rate the manager and if he can get them playing well then he might just get the best out of a good bunch. Spurs is a tricky one to weigh up they seem to be selling players off left right and centre. World class keeper and with Alli and Kane the spine of the team but look lacking in any real depth if a key player were to get injured. City are City and no reason to expect anything different from them unless they prioritise Champions League and lose a bit of focus on prem but that seems unlikely with Pep in charge. Chelsea have a huge Hazard shaped hole to fill and a very inexperienced manager so it's hard to judge them until the season gets going. And can Liverpool do it again or did they peak last season and miss their chance. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a two horse race from a long way out again but expect 3rd to 7th to be a lot more competitive
But they have signed a couple of decent players smokey. That young Palace defender is very good and will get better. And if the deal for McGuire goes through that will give them that ownership of the box. As for Pogba, if he can be kept focused, he is brilliant and a potential match winner. I wouldn't want to see him go unless he looks as though he doesn't want to be there
Pogba has been terrible since he went back, how long are they gonna give him to get focussed and decide if he wants to stay. I think he causes too much disruption and they'd be better off without him. I'm sure they've probably paid for the potential of Wan-Bissaka but still has to prove it. Maguire would be a good signing too if it goes through. There's a lot of players in that team who need to step up though.
Not as much as Sanchez. Most of the team weren't focused following the honeymoon period and needed a kick up the arse. They looked good against Inter and could/should have had a hatful. With the pace they have added I expect them to be much better this season. If they play for each other, they will take some beating. It will soon be apparent if they aren't doing that
Sanchez was bought to stop City buying him more than owt else but still has been very disappointing. Pre season means absolutely nothing so not really worth taking anything from that. Apart from Wan-Bissaka potentially being decent I can't really see where they've improved the team from last year and really don't see them being competitive unless Ole has worked some magic with them since the end of last season. I do hope I'm wrong and for once I actually welcome it, I do really like United, always have so would like to see them come good again
I have had a tenner on my team Noriwch to finish top 10. Have also tried to find a bet that will accept Noriwch staying up and Ipshit staying in League 1, but so far no joy yet.
