Yeh he’s the 40 year old goal keeper
We get rid of ok keeper and an up and coming keeper and buy another.
Bit like MANNONE and Pickford gone and end up with crap
Vince,
We got rid of Ruiter as he wasn't very good.
Stryke wanted first team football and wasn't going to get it ahead of McLaughlin, pity as I rated him.
Isn't the Greek coming as a goalie coach as well?
Even at 40 he's better than our Championship keepers.

Dino Zoff won the World Cup at 40. Gianluigi Buffon might be making a return to Juventus at 41.

Yeh but we should of kept styrek
If he comes as cover and a coach that’s ok
But if McLaughlin gets injured I would prefer a better option

Problem was that Sryjek didn;t want to stay as back up - and we couldn't tell McLaughlin "after being our best player last season, we're going to make you sub keeper for an untested player" really! This Boro lad (proper Boro name isn't it?) is a decent keeper to have as a back up option

I'm not even sure Stryjek warranted the hype. He was no second Pickford.

I wanted to see him given a chance based on the meagre clips I'd seen but his lack of game time under a few different managers probably tells its own story.
I wanted to see him do well too. But, like you say, no one seemed willing to give him a chance. Pickford, by the same age, had gained a lot of experience on loan at several decent clubs. Stryjek didn't get that. I don't know if that means that he wasn't good enough or if it was that we needed to keep him available but it could be that no one wanted to take him on. Wonder where he'll turn up next.

No thanks - I think we've had enough Man U flops already <doh>

I'd be all over him for league 1, mate. The little bits I've seen of him he'd piss this league.

He was a great prospect a few years back but his stats don't look that good now - 14 goals from 92 games.
A bit of a risk taking his injury record into account...
"I wanted to get out of my comfort zone on loan at Brighton [during the 2015-16 season] and while I was there, Rashford came through. I came back and never really got that chance again. Injuries were a big thing. Constant ankle injuries is a big one and my ACL two years ago."

I wasn't aware of his injury record. Yeah, it's put me off too.

Apparently we are after Motherwell scottish international winger Chris Cadden he has a clause which could see him go for 200,000 compo. He is 22 year old and has done over 100 apps for Motherwell
