Ludicrous comment, if we go 6 games without a win at the start of the season the fans will be on Bowyer’s back and he will be under pressure. That’s the reality of football.
Bowyer's other problem is that any player who performs well is likely to be sold in January, like Grant was. Surely they'd understand and turn their anger against the owner?
Powell, Peeters, Luzon & Slade would disagree with you. All fired after bad results. Fraeye doesn’t count.
What, and pay up the rest of his contract? No, he'd love to see Bowyer fail, and make him stew as punishment for getting us promoted, then forcing a pay rise out of him.
Apparently Lee Bowyer said in an interview today that Macaley Bonne is (wait for it...) "One for the future". Putting aside the obvious point that our only example of 'long term planning' by RD in he past was handing out huge five year contracts to useless players when the team was already as good as relegated back in 2016, should we really be overly concerned about "ones for the future" right now? I thought that was what our own academy was for. If LB thinks Macauley Bonne is not ready yet to help Charlton's 2019-20 Championship campaign why the hell have we signed him? Unless the stories are true, and Bonne was not signed on Bowyer's specific say-so.
Making the right comments. I see it as the geezer is prone to an injury and we were an easy option for him.
Another Stuart Fleetwood in the making. The 200k package surely could have been used on a safer option of a a geezer with division 2 experience.
Yep, no disrespect to Bowyer, but that’s a familiar soundbite from a Duchatelet-era manager. Karl Robinson used to trot it out regularly - normally about Ben Reeves.
I'm sorry to say this, but ANY manager that takes a job under the Belgian leaves themselves open to strong criticism.
I read some interesting comments on Bonne from the editor of the Orient fanzine. - his goals got them up last season - he is a brilliant penalty taker - he is poor in front of goal, and needs a lot of chances to get a goal. And that was at non league level. This is from a fan who actually watched Bonne in every game last season.
They are all not millionaires. You persist with trotting out this line about ALL club employees, have a day off and concede that you are wrong.
Mr ban Gerwen, the charity shop is closed today due to sickness. I have the day off so can spend a bit more time on here, you have been warned.
My enthusiasm for this site is hanging by a thread, you have been warned to. Other people are welcome to keep it going in my absence next season.
I'll step in Ivor. I think I could work well with Donald.................................................
