Hello from Malta. Disappointing that we couldn’t get a win but not unexpected. Seem to have gone off the boil once safety attained and, although improved, we are far from the finished article. Lot of hard work ahead during summer. On the bright side we could be Huddersfield. Us fans now have months of fruitless chat and false rumours to look forward to
Summary Game: dull Redmond goal : brilliant Gunn: bad mistake, must learn Idiot who ran on pitch: w4nker Result: meh Benali: priceless
Not until he learns to control the ball with his first touch, otherwise he gets closed down and we concede a goal.
Referee: Anonymous, which means he had a decent game, but he did miss the obligatory yellow for Romeu.
Which sort of makes some of his decision making yesterday even more bizarre. Unless.... ....did anyone else get the feeling half the team were just trying to set Ings up for a goal?
So the season end has been the equivalent of my wedding night, tinged with disappointment and the promise of trying to do better next time. Such is life. My main hope is that the club back the manager with whatever he wants to do in the summer - give him the money he wants to do as he wants; no trying to do everything on the cheap. Frankly, this time next year I'd be happy if people were accusing us of buying the league.
Just watched the highlights on Sky and blow me, it looked a better game than what I thought I saw yesterday? I somehow missed how close we came to getting a few goals, and now appreciate how well Huddersfield played, those yellow shirts were like wasps constantly buzzing around our players and not giving them a moments peace to do what they can be good at. Obviously they edited out the dross, but that Redmond goal looks better each time I see it.
Strange ending to the game really. There was a moment at the whistle with a collective “Meh” at a poor game, a brief pause, and then some appreciative applause for the efforts of the last few months. Reassuring to know that we will go again in the Premiership, starting on the same points as everyone else. I loved the chanting of the away fans, even if it did look like their team was sponsored by a highlighter pen company.
The moment Gunn messed up and Hudders scored, you feel the whole crowd and atmosphere drop like a stone Even at the top of the Kingsland/Northam corner, loads of fans simply sat down shaking their heads with a look of "We've been here before" By the final whistle the fans were on their backsides with yet another disappointment
Thought he was playing way too deep. Had some really nice touches but glaringly obvious he’s missing a proper partner. Sorry Shane.
From the moment we wasted the remaining minutes against B'mouth, the season ended.....badly. I'd much prefer us to continue the new found philosophy of playing the game with attacking intent. Something we were so lacking with the previous three managers. I'm just really frustrated, but I hate that we've tarnished his record already, when you looked at how much better it was than before, now we've just pinned some crap to it and ended the season. But, Gunn is young and will learn from that mistake, and thank the high lord it wasn't FF in goal for a mistake of that magnitude, as the meltdown would have been April 26th 1986 proportions.....and I'm still coming to terms with that! I never enjoy the season ends, but this one has been particularly pants.
Actually, after posting I felt like I had down played one of the worst things that the humans had done to the planet. I shall not use that reference again.
