Is it getting out of hand? Whenever you turn on the news someone's been killed the night before. There's a big spotlight on it at the moment, particularly in the media. Is it really worse now than it was 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago? If so, what's causing it, and how can we reduce it? I've listened a couple of times to Akala, a highly intelligent bloke imo who speaks a lot of sense on this.
its definately getting out of hand...im finding that im giving my 17 year old the talk most weeks about keeping his eyes open when hes out and about. I tell you what causes it...The lack of balls from parents to put their kids in their places. I dont know if anyone gets what i mean but parents are weak and the snowflake society gives stupid kids too much of an opinion. little yappy bastards and hoes with their heads in their phones all they aspire to be is the best at having attitude or twerking which brings me to the influence of TV media etc. **** self centered parents, TV and music
Yeh it does seem that any kid can be a victim, I've spoken to my kids about being aware of what's going on around them. Glasgow had a problem with it but they've sorted it apparently.
id introduce random spot checks and curfews for any teenager who is walking around thinking hes in a Grime video. but snowflake society thinks thats too harsh and against some kind of human rights.
I just don't understand what makes stabbing other kids (often at random) the thing to do? When I was a kid we went and played football Used to play tennis on the road, there was a great place nearby where you could do outdoor putting or play indoor games which was actually a bit of a laugh with mates, or explore derelict factories and ****.
same here...jumpers for goalposts kind of life inbetween collecting conkers and going through Porn mags with ya mates before you went home and got ready for Mosque.
It’s a complex issue and there’s many factors at play, that have seen the rise in knife crime. Glasgow is the yardstick, they tackled this issue from multiple angles and achieved massive success. Ultimately, if these kids don’t carry, then they don’t knife anyone, the reason many are now carrying is down to fear, which is self defeating.
There was alot more of boys chilled with boys and girls did their own thing. The way they are ALLOWED to go on nowadays is ****ing shocking. They all try to impress each other by twerking and pulling out knives
Come on Spurlock, we hung out with girls every now and then, usually ended up getting off with one of them in the park or something. I think the difference was we had an imagination! We knew there was always something we could do, even if it meant walking the streets dribbling a football chatting **** until we found something.
I told a story the other week about how my daughter had come home with a letter from the school informing me that they had an issue at the school with manufactured weapons. The kids are taking the felt tip out of highlighter pens and replacing it with a razor blade. So carrying it around it looks like an ordinary highlighter pen, but take the top off it and you've got a deadly weapon that could slice somebodies throat open with a flick of the wrist. Some lad tried to sell my 14 year old daughter one of these for 50p.
#KnifeCrime Ah bugger, it's not showing. Some guy walked into the church during a live ceremony in Canada and stabbed the priest.
