Well I slept in....days holiday for deadline day..oh the excitement and anticipation of the day to come. Wonder who we will sign...or how many we will sign...that moment when I think" my God..how the hell did we get that player" and the excitement of waiting to see the new recruits the next home game. Remember those days?
I have a feeling that nothing will happen today. Nobody in. Nobody out (except maybe a few kids to the non league on loan).
There’s your shrug of the shoulders and your “we worked hard and tried but it was out of our hands” reason for no signings.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Twelve hours to go and nothing imminent for #hcafc. Still looking, still talking. Chances are it’ll go down to the wire.
Hull City are yet to receive any bids for Kamil Grosicki ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline, despite fielding enquiries for the winger inside the last 48 hours. City owners Assem and Ehab Allam have made it clear they have no wish to offload Grosicki this month but it is understood that resolve had been tested during the last days of the window. Championship rivals Middlesbrough are believed to have asked about Grosicki’s availability, along with French club Monaco. Both were informed that City had no wish to sell the Poland international this month and that stance is not expected to change before tonight’s 11pm cut-off point.
Nothing to do with the fact that klippity klopp will only let him go IF he gets regular first team football, which isn't going to happen unless we sell both bowen and grosicki
I’ve heard Gareth Bale is at the training ground but as it’s not being spoken about on here I assume it must be a mix up or a hoax.
It's going as we expected it to go. And if he's being honest with himself, exactly how Nige thought it was going to happen back in November.
Personally, I think Grosicki's been instrumental in our upturn in form and I'd rather not swap him for anyone. But if we are swapping him for someone, he'd be a good option, certainly better than Fletcher (though Brizzle City are apparently hoping to get him).
Thing is, if you swap Grosicki for Assombalonga, we're back to square one with needing cover on the wings again. I suppose Nige would argue that Irvine can play there, but he's nowhere near as dynamic as Turbo is.
If Monaco really wanted to sign Grosiki, then they'd get him easily. If he doesn't go, then there was never any interest, it was just his agent spouting bolloks.
