Hats off to Pool today, they won a game without any major help from the officials for once, although two of their goals were lucky deflections. The Dippers dominated the game and deserved to win against a woeful United, it is amazing how far they have fallen behind, they are almost on a level with The Scammers these days.

I`m starting to believe it could be the Mousers year (perish the thought), they have a big enough squad, they are (at the moment) enjoying lots of luck when they need it and referees helping them out when they don`t get the luck.

Wow.

The delusion levels of some of these Man U fans! (...and Chris Sutton.)

I'm listening to Five Live. Some folks actually believe they have enough money, power, size, or whatever else they have, to prise Pochettino away from Spurs, and out of Levy's hands, to fix their problems at the end of this season. <laugh>

Funny how not a single one thinks an approach for Norbert is worth trying...

Even that mug Roy Keane alluded to Poch moving to United during his scouse sports punditry duty.

I was going to say this but yes, absolutely. They do get a lot of luck though don't they! But please pundits, don't add the awful cliche "a team makes it's own luck" to add to the even more dreadful "refereeing decisions even themselves out over the season".

Weird thing is, Pool might lose a couple of games (maybe not likely given the above statement) and the pundits will all be saying "what has gone wrong, they were playing so well..." but the fact is that in a lot of games they haven't played that well, so nothing really needs to go wrong in order for them not to win, just a little justice, even handed refs and equal amounts of luck!

I'll do you a deal. Next game you win without refs assistance, luck or because the other team simply rolled over due to expectation of defeat I'll post how much you deserved to win. And by the way, don't get me wrong, you deserved to beat ManU, you deserved to beat us. But that doesn't mean the result should have been a win against us because of the stonewall penalty we didn't get. Meanwhile please let me know if the two goals you won by yesterday were not deflected.

The cliche is "it all evens out over a season" .

My feeling is that you get "virtuous/vicious circles" .
Specifically, for things like :

- Decisions by officials
- Deflected/own goals

A team in title fights gets much of the above in their favour,
whilst those in the relegation mire get the exact opposite.

If decisions even themselves out over a season, why is VAR necessary?

So explain why you haven't won the title while you've been in the mix a few times recently?

Tranmere are currently 2-0 up against Southport and Connor Jennings got both goals.
Both volleys, but the first was pretty special:
