To be honest me being the sceptic I am.......I’m beginning to think that a lot of what is going on is a smoke screen. All main party’s were for remaining. I’m beginning to think that TM and co in fact may just be going through the motions of trying to get a deal knowing that what ever is agreed is not going to get through parliament. Therefore deciding not to go with the referendum result and just decide to stay. Nah that can’t be right can it? I’m getting very suspicious though......something ain’t right.........
Got a huge gutt feeling that the remain camp are going to get their way!

It’s been a mucking fuddle from day one with first Cameron and then May letting their egos get get the better of common sense.
Cameron thought he was on safe ground with the Referendum, and so didn’t (along with other parties) do enough to fight the Remain cause.
May seemed to believe people like Liam Fox, who said doing the deal would be the easiest trade deal ever, and declared/served article 50 without doing any due diligence. She never had a plan, from what I have seen, with every knock back seeming to come as a surprise, rather than something to be countered with a ready response.
She hasn’t been going at it halfhearted, IMO. It’s just too big a job for her and probably for any other current politician.

I recently posted a comment from my niece, a senior civil servant involved in the Westminster machine, who confirms that it is an utter mess.
I will put her comment below for those who missed it.

Hello uncle B
Obviously I’m not allowed to post myself - senior civil servants are not able to speak publicly (we know too much) and can’t give their own views, we can only give the government position. But I can’t quite believe the utter mess we are in. It’s a deal, and actually reasonable given the parameters but it will make us poorer. It really is lose-lose. Absolutely insane. No Deal planning will continue because we have to make sure there are plans in place in case it come to that. That will probably become more obvious in the coming weeks.

Funny how many of the big hitter Leavers are making plans to move business or family out of the UK. It's almost as if they know something's up. They are immune to the ****storm they plan to inflict on us. And some of them, Like JRM, stand to make a mint from the chaos. Yet people still believe them.

And of course the Anti-Tax Avoidance Directive comes into force on 1st Jan 2019, this being one of the main reasons why so many rich bastards like Grease-Bogg want a speedy Brexit and don’t give a monkeys whether it’s hard or soft.

I'm not sure why we discuss politics at all when Britains politics have been set in stone since the second world war and successive governments only tweak it a little bit one way or the other. As for Brexit, everyone on here can read and write.

The High Court will rule as early as Christmas whether Brexit should be declared “void”, in a legal case given a turbo-boost by the criminal investigation into Leave funder Arron Banks.

Judges are poised to fast track the potentially explosive challenge, after Theresa May’s refusal to act on the growing evidence of illegality in the 2016 referendum campaign, The Independent can reveal.

Lawyers describe that failure as “absolutely extraordinary” – given the National Crime Agency’s (NCA) probe into suspicions of “multiple” criminal offencescommitted by Mr Banks and the Leave.EU campaign.

I wonder if Rob is suffering with a little bit of wishful thinking?

This year I am only sending about two thirds the number of Christmas cards I normally send. I am not sending cards to those I normally send to who voted Leave as I do not wish to be associated with racists, bigots and fools.

We need to be far more afraid of the far right of the Tory party. Those bastards are why we are in the ****ing mess we are currently in.

Partly true. In addition, quite a number of folk are under informed, partly because of a reluctance to self-educate through taking time out to read and think. Where the fault lies in this área, I do not know but youngsters need to be challenged when making statements. Why do you think like this? Similarly, with a lot of more mature people who were not taught to think, analyse and evaluate.

I don't think you can condemn people for not being sufficiently interested in politics, economics and current affairs to hold informed opinions on stuff they don't really care about. The mistake was asking the electorate to make a decision they/we were not qualified to make, on specific issue very few understood.
