Too ageist the OP. Old farts like me can't remember the last 10 years...but vividly recall 50 years ago.
Open it up.
Chris Chilton without a doubt.
If we could pick 4 players, it would be Chilton (hardest working City footballer I've ever seen, and could score goals from anywhere with any part of his body ), Houghton ( smartest creative City player),
Wagstaff ( sharpest I've ever seen in the box) and Ian Butler (wizard on the flank).
I never actually saw Ashbee play live - he was injured every time I returned home to watch City during his tenure, so I would chose Simpkin as an add in for his tenacity and policeman/inspiration role).

We wouldn't need a defence with that lot.

Good shout! Those were heady days for me as a City supporter.

Agreed. Plus Jock Davison to put the fear of God into the opposition.

Ye they must have been terrified the way they kept bangingthemin against us.
Jock picked his times. Wouldn't be surprised if he was injured & didn't play in the few games we drew/lost in '65-'66 season.
Bottom line - score more than the opposition. Nearly perfect on that front.
Relatively early in the season I hitched from Leeds to see City's home game against York. They beat us 1-4 !
End of season GDifference:
Hull City +47
York City - 53
Funny old game.
They ended up bottom, we ended up top.
Bet (I can't recall) Jock didn't play that day :emoticon-0105-wink:

What an amazing ten years we have had on the field, our glory years, especially if you say the last 15 years it has been a great time. This thread brings home how many great players we have had. Unfortunately every bit of that good will has been thrown away.
