Sterling has been harshly criticised in this tournament. He has been wasteful and his decision making has been poor but he was literally the one player who troubled the opposition.
"Troubling" the opposition? He's supposed to score or supply goals Jimmy, he's missed sitters galore and embarrassingly dived looking for penalties because he's lost possession. He's gash, thank **** we got rid.
As much as I agree with your point here, I feel the need to say "at least he got into the positions to miss them"
But missing them means his positioning means nothing, positioning alone doesn't win games, this game should be a chance for the fringe players in the squad to get some game time before coming home. PS, I don't like Sterling but my criticism of him is based on how **** his end product for England is.
