A bridge too far tonight, but it has been a great ride and this group can go a long way, plus there are some great kids coming through. They are truly battle hardened now and will be among the favourites for the next Euros and Qatar. Very proud of them and Southgate.
My hosts were superb, incensed at some of the reffing, but quite rightly felt that after half time we looked inexperienced.

Croatia was better in the end but the ref was very questionable....
As well as our youngsters have done, I just can't shake the feeling that we have missed a huge opportunity.

Me too. I'm extremely proud, as I promised I would be, but we didn't turn up from 45 on. I think the pressure just got the better of them. We didn't know what to do.

So close. We were so superior in the first half that we should have gone in at least two up, which we could have held. Kane should have scored, or squared to Sterling - either way he ****ed up. The consensus was that the Croatians would tire, but they grew into the game and bossed the second half, so no complaints really (other than the fact that Lovren should have been sent off for multiple bookable offences). This manager and this group of players (supplemented by World champions at younger levels) will go on to win major tournaments, though.
He was ****ed at the end of the Colombia game. I was surprised that he started against Sweden.
