Yeah, I know what you meant, but this is what annoys me. Just because you voted Leave, it doesn't mean you should get exactly the kind of Brexit that was in your head when you voted. People voted for all kinds of different reasons and for many different forms of Brexit. Some Leave voters were expecting to stay in the Single Market, some wanted to stay in the Customs Union, some wanted Norway, some Switzerland, and some just wanted to give Cameron and Osborne a kick up the arse. Of course, many also just wanted to walk away from everything, but I get tired of people saying 'this is not what I voted for'. You voted for Brexit and May is offering Brexit. There was no majority for Hard Brexit.
Totally this.

Jeez, I'm SOOOOO glad you're not part of the process with that attitude. One of the most incorrect posts I've ever seen here.

1. Use of the word 'remoaners' instantly comes across as patronising and insulting. I thought that wasn't what people wanted to be like any more.
2. Assuming that anyone who didn't vote like you did is 'treacherous' is immensely insulting. and 100% wrong. Shows the 'little englander' gene is still sadly alive and thriving in some people.
3. 'May the Betrayer'? Clearly you've not taken any of the details of their position and looked at them objectively. I'd try thinking with your head for once.
4. Farage is abhorrent. He is filled with hateful smarm, and nothing else. That he's banished to the outer reaches of politics is still too close.
5. Trump is the worst thing ever to happen to world politics. A career criminal and conman who doesn't care for anyone but himself and those who can benefit him directly. The sooner he's locked up the better. And it's coming.

Note: All my opinion, and therefore all valid. Also, I've not insulted you (despite the insulting tone of your post towards those who voted Remain) so please don't come back saying I have. I could easily do so, but I have chosen not to.
Wouldn't bother if I were you.

So much deflection. Trump is a criminal. Bill Clinton went through due process whilst President and now he’s no longer POTUS it’s between him and Hillary. Speaking of Hillary, she was investigated for two years and the REPUBLICAN led investigation found NOTHING. Obama inherited a war on many fronts from Bush, and although the loss of life is terrible, he didn’t do anything any other President wouldn’t have done. At least he did it openly and without the glee you see from Trump.

He’s racist, he’s corrupt, hes a pathological liar, he’s a proven rapist (Ivana) and a self confessed serial sexual assaulter, and he’s clearly in Putin’s pocket. Trump is worse than the rest combined.

Blair I also despise. He is also a proven liar. Anything you want to accuse him of relating to Iraq, go ahead. Doesn’t give Trump any leeway though. It’s completely separate.

Farage is just hateful. He’s a cruel, calculated liar and bigoted xenophobic who has invented an Everyman persona that is at odds with his background, and he’s only interested in his place in history.

Corbyns anti semitism is also abhorrent.

JRM is an opportunist toff. He’ll only do what his nanny says (he used to take her canvassing with him, you know)

And no, you can’t be insulting.

Please tell me you didn't write this. <doh>
So Obama inherited a war and he didn’t do anything any other President wouldn’t have done. You mean like try to stop things by removing troops and making peace deals like Trump? As for Obama doing things 'openly'...<laugh>. Sorry WLW, every week I am reading stuff about Obama that is making him look less clean.
If you are going to sound smart at least get your facts right. I appreciate that you don't like Trump and I also think he is a bit a of dick but he is no worse than any of the others.
How about the famous Mexican wall myth that Trump is building? Another example of how other Presidents have done more than him. Remember Obama sent troops to guard the border. He also gave money for building the wall. In fact, I believe I have read recently that Obama has put up more fences and walls up than Trump. Yet Trump is evil and Obama a saint?

If you hate Trump that much you could always tie yourself to Sadiq Khan's inflatable and chuck eggs down at him. Or join the hoards of anti-Trump protesters that couldn't be bothered to demonstrate when the
Prince of Saudi Arabia turned up @hypocrites.

As for your statement of Trump being in Putin's pocket, maybe you should put that on the conspiracy thread as I think that Trump is really a Russian sleeper agent that has infiltrated the White House...<yikes>

As for Hillary, the only thing that 'hasn't been found' are the 30,000 emails. You need to read up on that a bit more because she has covered up more than Putin and his nerve agent.

With regards to JRM.... what is wrong with taking your nanny canvasing? He obviously worries you so you need to try and mock him. He is actually a super intelligent bloke who is fast moving up the ladder and will probably be a Tory leader and PM. People will also vote for him because he has (in a weird 18 century way) charisma.

Anyway getting back to Brexit. Recently I read an amazing article on the EU and how it is impossible to change things. They have written in so many rules and regulations that it impossible to do anything... And that 's what they call democracy?

There is a great new book out that describes the workings or (non-workings) of the EU. I will post the link and you can have a good read of it. It's not from anyone with a political agenda. It should be essential reading.

Ellers my old mucka, I have to agree with you regarding some of your statements on trump. My little market town held a protest about a year ago over his pending visit. Absolute joke. Chalking messages all over the square cobblestones. Never heard a whisper from them when terrorists were freely allowed back in the country or visits from Saudis. Trump may be lots of things, but I don't mind someone who says what he thinks.

Ellers - just one point from that post. I am convinced JRM won't be leader in this Parliament. If they elect him the Government collapses immediately because the DUP will withdraw its support.

I suspect you lot (in football not political terms) should be looking closer to home for your next PM...

Bob, I am no fan of Trump (always thought he is a bit of a self-loving knob) but I am perplexed by all the Anti-Trump rhetoric. So many hypocrites that castigate him at every chance but there are a lot more politicians that have done a lot worse. When we leave the EU we will need to trade more with the US (Trump and beyond). These demonstrators really need to get a life or better still read up a bit.

Unbelievable. You really must let me know what medication you’re on. Every single word is laughable. At least I know not to bother responding to you any more. I’ll stick to those who have at least one foot in reality here...

I think May will survive for now unless she loses a cabinet member. That would really make things interesting. However, It's too soon for JRM. He is squeaky clean so I think people will trust him... Although he probably dresses up as a baby and gets whipped by his nanny. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

That's fine WLW. TBH I would have only corrected you on Hillary anyway but do what you have to. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I'm not a fan tbh but each to their own. Gove is a very smooth operator. Have you seen him at the dispatch box? He is by far the best in the cabinet.

Agree. I mentioned that JRM was smart but Gove is on a different intellectual level. The only thing I find wrong with Gove is his loyalty. Remember Brexit and leadership challenge with Boris? Even now he seems to be cosying up to May when he is a leaver?

Can you name a PM who wasn't a back stabbed or an opportunist?! Quite honestly he might well be the best person for the job right now. I'm no Tory and I voted remain but I just want someone to get it done properly.

Not sure. Blair only got in because Smith died. He was a good bloke and a shame he never made it. With Thatcher, I was a bit young but I don't believe she was a backstabber (although I wouldn't put my house on it).
I voted Tory and Leave but I will always moan if I believe they are doing their job. Agree I also want someone to get on with it but now believe we have made a cock up with it and shown our hand. Plenty of people will have their own version of why Brexit is failing but for me, I blame too much interference and negativity and the fact that the EU won't let us leave.

I see the EU in a no-win situation.
If the EU rejects May's new deal, It will show that they are not willing to actually do a deal.
If they do accept it will only be because they are frightened that she might get the boot and replaced by a new hard-line Brexiter PM.

The EU, like us, is playing a dangerous game. If there is a no deal (which is looking likely as time goes on) They are saying it will cause more problems for them than us. If we do leave without a deal we should give them nothing.

I think Maggie did Ted Heath over but happy to be corrected by more esteemed and venerable posters!

I don't have a clue about who suffers most out of a no deal but it's clearly in all our interests to get one. The problem with the current PM is she's trying to keep everyone happy and actually pissing off everyone instead...

This is the problem with Brexit 52/48 will always cause problems and it's no difference in Parliment. Some want in and others out.
My take is that we voted, got a result and people should have respected it. Rather than trying to derail it at every opportunity the country should have come together. We wouldn't be in this mess if people just get on with it. The EU is seeing what's happening here and taking full advantage.

I agree completely.

Which is why our democracy is a representative one, not a direct one. And why continual carping about what they're doing - trying to balance a million disparate wishes against the practicalities of the country being able to operate immediately after the leaving date - will never satisfy enough people and only provides a breeding ground for the personal ambitions of Politicians who won't suffer, whatever the outcome.
