Lamela missed nearly 16 months through injury. Before that he was crucial to how we played. His energy, closing down, his movement creating space for other, constantly winning the ball or forcing errors were invaluable.
He is finally getting back to that level and imho it would be insane to get rid of him. In the 1st half only his final ball let him down, in the 2nd half he nailed it. He forced untold errors from their defence by constantly chasing a lost cause.
He does have weaknesses but to get an improvement would be costly and their are better areas to strengthen imo

Nice of the MOTD coverage to completely overlook the two penalty calls leading up to Leicester's 4th goal.
They looked like awful calls to me from the stands, but it would be nice to have some clarity.

Rose’s was a definite pen for me. I was right behind the incident and although accidental, where the Leicester players fall down, he falls on the back of Rose’s heels causing him to lose balance and also fall. No malice but the fact remains he took Danny out without being anywhere near the ball.

You would have thought, with his dietary changes over the last few months he'd have been able to stay upright!! <laugh>

I think I am correct in saying we did not receive a single penalty at `home` this season, and just 3 all season, 1 away at Burnley and 2 (50 years worth) at Klanfield.

Yep, you got 3. So did Utd.
Burnley got 0.
Palace got 10.
Last season Spurs got 9 (2nd most)

Statistically, the median and modal values for this
season was 3. So Spurs did no better or worse on
the penalty count than many other teams.

The 0/10 for Burnley/Palace would warrant further
investigation.

I think Lamela is one-footed and over-elaborate. He gives the ball away too often in promising situations. He tends to lose it a bit when he's been tackled. And he's sometimes slow to make decisions with the ball at his feet. Apart from that.......!!!!! I agree about his commitment and self-discipline (which is improving). I agree he's a good squad member, because he's quick over the ground when he hasn't got the ball, which is a useful asset. I'm afraid that, although I wouldn't want him to go, I still cannot believe the price tag that we agreed to!

And all three were extensively moaned about, despite being blatant.

The game finished 5-4 and this is the time that they decide to get gimmicky with the highlights? Really?

The Moura boot thing was very funny at the time. I doubt the bloke that was supposed to be picking him up thought so, though.
