They shoot down passenger planes, kill people on our soil, take down parts of cyberspace and openly cheat in sports.

Yet all they get is a soft telling off.

Can anything actually be done about them or does the West just keep letting them off with their behaviour?

    What’s the UN actually for?

You forgot that that they also send troops into other countries to occupy them.

Oh and they will attack any England fans daft enough to go to the World Cup this summer.

Boris has already suggested we should pull out of the World Cup and ask all other EU nations to do it too. While it would be annoying if we weren't there I think that would actually hurt them far more than any additional sanctions would, as the media coverage would be huge. No doubt we would get sanctioned by FIFA but so what.

The just basically do what they want.
Everyone knows it will be a blood bath at the world cup. Their hooligans actually go to training camps and are probably state sponsored too. They caused carnage the last time around and everyone just stuck their fingers in their ears and went 'lalalalala'.
Someone will get killed over there.
And the Russians will blame others... like normal.

Its guaranteed to kick off over there...the Russians will say that they will crack down on their 'hooligans' but we know they will be let off the leash for the English.

Anyone who thinks we are racist should head over to Russia, it will be bad enough to be white and English during this world cup, I think it would be no loss whatsoever to pull out of this world cup, a suggestion on the news this morning from a chemical weapons guy was to host an alternative tournament in the UK, even if it was only 4 or 5 teams that we could convince to do this it would be worth it, FIFA and the Olympics lot are spineless when it comes to Russian abuse of doping and other issues

The fact they KILLED and IMPRISONED the only two serious candidates running against Vladimir shows you what a corrupt country it is. I mean FFS they Annexed Crimera and we all just sat there and did sweet F-all. Killing on foreign soil has gone on for so long with no punishment, 3/40 years and we still stand by. This one feels different though and I could see major issues going forwards. Trade punishments etc will only piss them off but its the only thing we can do unless we want full scale war...

Russian are bad, the rest of us are worse for sitting on our hands and letting it happen.

You knew when we turned a million blind-eyes to their human rights record within the country we'd never do a thing about what they do out of it.
Like South Korea, they're too volatile (with enough power) to touch and therefore get to do whatever the **** they want, say whatever the **** they want, pretty much **** whoever they want and just survive on fear.
We all start moaning and suggesting we will take some form of action.
    Putin unveils an invincible missile.
    Rinse and repeat.
    Appeasement anyone?

Unfortunately they're too big to touch. The only thing that might make them change is to make them suffer financially.

I struggle to condemn Putin too much. I mean they are willing to get their hands dirty, and Putin is undoubtedly keen on meddling in world affairs for betterment of his country. I don't think there is much doubt in that. I think they are also willing to cross this imaginary line that the likes of May seem to want to draw. Yet we know for a fact our own government is knee deep in corruption. I mean who is assisting all these Russian oligarch to wash their dirty money? We are. They've known about this corruption and money laundering for years and done jack ****. I wonder why that is, paying the right people perhaps? We even let them run football clubs...

Who allows all these massive corporations tax breaks? I wonder why that is, paying the right people perhaps? Supporting the right election campaign?

Who involved themselves in the corrupt practices of the Saudis in order to secure arms deals? We did. Plenty got slaughtered as a result of those deals, but its ok because its indirect involvement.

I mean we are quite happy to turn a blind eye to atrocities and human rights abuses world wide as long as they line our pockets.

The upper echelons of our government is still a closed shop which only a permitted few are allowed to influence. Our own Royal Family is as corrupt as they come and got their wealth through dubious means. We wouldn't dream of addressing that.

We shouldn't go ****ting outside everyone else's house, and not expect the odd person to take a **** outside of our own.

Sadly the world has been corrupted no end as far as I can see, and our country is as guilty as any of the others.

The world cup was bought, as was the Qatari one. What has anyone actually done about it? Which country worldwide has taken a stand? I mean they all murmur about it and privately say how dubious it looks. No one is willing to rock the boat and I'm sure its because half of those involved have their own little dirty secrets to hide. The Russians are no doubt bending the rules on doping. I also have no doubt others do too. The Americans have never been against bending the rules have they? I'm pretty sure they have sophisticated development to dupe and stay of the testing system. Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones, BALCO, Trevor Graham. I mean you can look suspiciously at our own recent champions Wiggins and Froome.

I feel similarly about the UK although I think you have to criticise Putin very heavily in basically turning a fledging democracy into a dictatorship. 2 term elections? No bother, just serve 2 terms, then install a puppet President for the next term and make yourself Prime Minister, then run again for terms 4 and 5. And extend the Presidential term from 4 years to 6 years in the process. The treatment of political opponents is horrendous. There seems to be a lot of evidence of his personal corruption and wealth building. I'd say he deserves a lot of criticism to be honest.

He's completely screwed his own country. Go to Russia and see the inequality, old pensioners left penniless while the politicians buy London flats with bundles of cash. The intelligence services and the mafia are basically two sides of the same coin. There are a lot of good people in Russia but their leader has strong-armed the state away from the people and no-one feels able to do anything about it because it's been happening for so long that they've normalised it.

So... Vlad can get his hackboys to track us down individually from our digital presence, then either send an invincible missile to blow us to smithereens, or an agent to use some chemical out of a Marvel film to slowly kill us...

    Let me think...

    I like Putin.

I heard the Mackem board hates him though...

The Russian blokey who got sprayed in Salisbury wasn't very bright. Drove around in a bright red BMW and was constantly pictured with a pint in his hand <easy target>

An old serviceman once said to me... ‘the biggest mistake the West made was not continuing Eastward once amazon germany surrendered’.

Strong words but they have caused a lot of problems in the world since WW2.

He was of a different generation.

What has Amazon Germany got to do with this? If you are having problems with them just switch to E-bay.
