Wish me luck when I go under the surgeon’s knife next Wednesday!
50+ years of club cricket have taken their toll on my knees and I need new ones.
This is the first. Hope to be back in action in time to predict the Man U game……

I have a soft spot for Southampton – and not just because they’ve provided us with so many points,
as well as stars in the making and a first-rate manager (although all of that helps!)
but especially because they were my dad’s team.
So this week’s song (from The Hothouse Flowers) is a heartfelt plea for them to stay in the PL,
where I think they belong. Hope they get through their bad patch............ once we’ve beaten them, of course!

Here, there's a whiff of relegation and it's filling up my senses -
And while Son is shining now on defences in the Premier League -
There's a buzzing fly hanging around the Baggies and the Potters
But there's a lot more winning, yeah, left in this team! :emoticon-0165-muscl
Don't go!
Don't get sent down, down, down -
While the Spurs smile -
Stick around and play a while, yeah!

Now Spurs play on Wembley’s soft grassy pitches,
While the Saints are submerged in the basement and it’s not good;
Spurs are playing building castles in the CL
Saints need just a little shove and all can be so fine! :emoticon-0106-cryin
Don't go, etc

There's our Harry and he’s coming at them -
And he scores now;
There's that Dele Alli gliding smooth into a space;
And Son is scoring on the other side of the goalmouth;
And the fans going wild with smiles on their faces! :1980_boogie_down:

There's a black cat lying in the shadow of the goal-post
And the black cat keeps telling me that Spurs will win away, yeah
There's a black cat, etc :shocked:
And the black cat, etc :shocked:
Don't go, etc + repeats

Prediction: Southampton 0 Spurs 3
Scorers: Kane, Alli, Son :emoticon-0178-rock::emoticon-0178-rock::emoticon-0178-rock:

Cheers, Spurf! <cheers>
Good luck with the op hope all goes well.I went for a pre op 22nd December met the surgeon he told me I have a 30 % chance of not coming round from the op :emoticon-0107-sweat because of my long term illness and medical history and amount of tablets I take.he then cancelled the 2nd part of the session because he confessed he had never heard of my illness stills disease <laugh> and he's a doctor <laugh> ffs . Latest news is another pre op 2nd March gives them time to research everything <doh> .doesn't instill you with confidence does it <laugh>

Thanks for your good wishes. My pre-op was the same day as yours, as it happens........ but no such problems (just predictions of severe post-op pains and unrelenting physios). On the whole, surgery doesn't distress me. I've had 12 ops in my (long!) life so far. [And I'm not supersticious!] Your situation sounds very unsatisfactory, however, and I sincerely hope it is resolved before your re-run pre-op in March. Here's hoping the medics are able to cope with your condition, and that you emerge more "rocky" (as in "like a rock") and less "rocky" (as in " shaky"). All the best!

Woh, that's grim going into an op. However as a Spurs fan you've had all your bad luck so you'll sail through. Just in case, do you want to predict through to the end of the season <whistle>? Seriously, wish you all the best with this. Odds are worth it if it improves your quality of life and I'm sure the doctors exaggerate the risks to cover themselves for those hung-over mornings when they cock it up.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Southampton. Kane, Alli and Son for us, Long for them.

Are you having them both done at the same time? If you are best of luck. It was bad enough when I just had one done. Get back on feet as soon as you can and keep the revised lyrics coming.
